Oxidized Detonation Nanodiamonds Act as an Efficient Metal‐Free Photocatalyst to Produce Hydrogen Under Solar Irradiation

open access: yesAdvanced Energy & Sustainability Research
Herein, it is revealed for the first time that oxidized detonation nanodiamonds (Ox‐DND) can produce hydrogen under solar irradiation without addition of cocatalyst or formation of heterojunction with another semiconductor.

Evidence of absorption dominating over scattering in light attenuation by nanodiamonds

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
We show an experimental evidence of the domination of absorption over scattering in absorbance spectra of detonation nanodiamonds. We perform absorbance measurements on the UV-vis spectrophotometer equipped with an integrating sphere and compare them ...

INFRARED SPECTROMETRY OF MODIFIED DETONATION NANODIAMONDS

open access: yesBulletin of the Saint Petersburg State Institute of Technology (Technical University), 2023
The article analyzes the infrared spectra (IR spectra) of detonation nanodiamonds (DND) obtained from various explosives: from an alloy of TNT and RDX; tetryl; tetryl with RDX and a ternary mixture: a mixture of TNT, RDX and tetryl. The resulting DNDs were treated: with aqueous ammonia at 220 °C at 40 atm, in a gaseous medium (air and argon) at 430 °C.

Fluorescent Nanodiamonds for Lateral Flow Assays Enhanced by Magnetic Modulation: From Synthesis to Application

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
This review examines the use of fluorescent nanodiamonds (FNDs) in lateral flow assays (LFAs) for advanced diagnostics. FNDs offer superior photostability and biocompatibility compared to traditional labels. The review covers FND synthesis, and integration with detection systems to enhance performance.

Review of Flash Joule Heating for the Synthesis of Graphene and Other Functional Carbon Materials

open access: yesCarbon Energy, Volume 8, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Flash Joule heating (FJH), as a high‐efficiency and low‐energy consumption technology for advanced materials synthesis, has shown significant potential in the synthesis of graphene and other functional carbon materials. Based on the Joule effect, the solid carbon sources can be rapidly heated to ultra‐high temperatures (> 3000 K) through ...
