Detuned Twin-Signal-Recycling for ultrahigh-precision interferometers [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2007
We propose a new interferometer technique for high precision phase measurements such as those in gravitational wave detection. The technique utilizes a pair of optically coupled resonators that provides identical resonance conditions for the upper as well the lower phase modulation signal sidebands.

Waveguide Photoactuators: Materials, Fabrication, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Waveguide photoactuators convert guided light into mechanical motion. Their tethered‐flexible design enables minimally invasive surgery and confined‐space robotics. This review aims to guide materials selection, device design, and system integration, accelerating the transition of waveguide photoactuators from laboratory prototypes to versatile ...

A Novel Method for Precision Measurement and Result Optimization of Detuning Angle for KDP Crystals

open access: yesSensors
In this paper, we investigate the theory of energy distribution when divergent light undergoes harmonic conversion in KDP crystals, and based on this theory, we design and construct a precision measuring instrument for the detuning angle of (KDP ...

Nearly Degenerate Four-Wave Mixing in Single-Mode Fabry–Pérot Laser Diode Subject to Single Beam Optical Injection

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
In this paper, nearly degenerate four-wave mixing created by pump–probe structure with small frequency spacing and enough high power is demonstrated and discussed by introducing single optical beam into single-mode Fabry–Pérot laser ...

Activation barrier scaling and crossover for noise-induced switching in a micromechanical parametric oscillator

open access: yes, 2006
We explore fluctuation-induced switching in a parametrically-driven micromechanical torsional oscillator. The oscillator possesses one, two or three stable attractors depending on the modulation frequency. Noise induces transitions between the coexisting

Detuning effects in Brillouin ring microresonator laser

open access: yesOptics Express, 2020
Brillouin lasers, with their unique properties, offer an intriguing solution for many applications, yet bringing their performance to integrated platforms has remained questionable. We present a theoretical framework to describe Brillouin lasing in integrated ring microcavities. Specifically, a general case of a mismatch between the Brillouin shift and

Multi‐Soliton Microcombs Enable Ultrafast Nanometric‐Precision Ranging and Photon‐Level Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our work first demonstrates dual‐multi‐soliton ranging and confirms its multifunctional capability. The method achieves ultrafast and nanometric‐precision measurement. For practical applications, we further extend the multi‐soliton states to photon‐level ranging.

Study of oscillation performance characteristics of unidirectional photorefractive ring resonators: Cavity detuning dependence

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2015
Single unidirectional photorefractive ring resonator (SUPRR) and coupled unidirectional photorefractive ring resonator (CUPRR) were considered with BaTiO3 and LiNbO3 crystals as inter-cavity photorefractive media.

Weak-measurement-induced heating in Bose-Einstein condensates

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2023
Ultracold atoms are an ideal platform for understanding system-reservoir dynamics of many-body systems. Here, we study quantum back-action in atomic Bose-Einstein condensates, weakly interacting with a far-from resonant, i.e., dispersively interacting ...

Scrambling‐Enhanced Quantum Battery Charging in Black Hole Analogues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By employing a black‐hole‐analog quantum battery constructed from a position‐dependent XY model, its dynamical behavior is investigated through a quench of the scrambling parameter. It is systematically quantified that how the simulated scrambling improves key performance metrics‐namely, stored energy, peak power, and charging time‐thereby offering a ...
