“Dead Lithium” Formation and Mitigation Strategies in Anode‐Free Li‐Metal Batteries
Anode‐free lithium metal batteries, though promising due to their high energy density, face challenges from dead lithium formation. “Dead lithium”, disconnected from the anode, causes capacity loss, increased resistance, and safety risks. This review explores the origins of dead lithium, its impact on battery performance, and potential strategies for ...

Mechanistic studies reveal that hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) enables C–Cl activation of propargylic halides by stabilizing ion pairs and enhancing effective Brønsted acidity. This cooperative solvent effect allows access to cationic intermediates and promotes cascade formation of tetrahydroquinolines through cyclization and disproportionation ...

Biomass‐Coupled HER System: A Strategy for Sustainable and Low‐Cost Hydrogen Production
Pine wood is carbonized into a hierarchically porous biochar anode that undergoes carbon oxidation reaction, replacing the oxygen evolution reaction in alkaline water electrolysis. The resulting biomass‐coupled HER system converts water into hydrogen at low cell voltages, enabling low‐cost H2 production from renewable carbon resources. ABSTRACT Biomass‐

Thermolysis of [{VCp*(µ‐CH3)2}2] (Cp* = η5‐C5Me5) in hexane leads to a tetranuclear cube‐type methylidene complex [{VCp*(µ3‐CH2)}4], while in benzenic solvents C6H5R produces the formal insertion of a CH fragment into the six‐membered aromatic ring of a solvent molecule to give trovacene derivatives with η7‐cycloheptatrienyl ligands [VCp*(η7‐C7H6R ...

Generation of a Ground‐State Electron Donor Utilizing Stored Light Energy
Chemically stored light energy enables the generation of dianion reductants (∼−2.7 V) from vicinal diols derived from diaryl ketone photodimerization. These ground‐state electron donors efficiently reduce challenging substrates at room temperature, including aryl bromides, alkyl iodides, and sulfonamides.

An iridium‐catalyzed linear‐selective sp3 C─H alkylation of N‐methylamides with alkenes is described. This method tolerates various N‐methylacetamide derivatives and has a broad alkene scope. Mechanistic studies were also conducted. Internal alkenes can also be used through in situ consecutive alkene isomerization.

Photolytic Hydrophosphination: Insights Into Catalyzed and Uncatalyzed Processes
Catalyst‐free photolytic hydrophosphination is demonstrated for vinyl arenes and activated alkenes in polar protic (alcohol) solvents. These reactions appear to be closed‐shell, affirming that even ambient light can impact a reaction—a potentially broad influence on even mundane reactions.
