Deuterium excess in recent Antarctic snow

Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, 1991
Deuterium excess (d = δD ‐ 8 * δ18O) values in surface snow are presented for central and east Antarctica. The samples are primarily from Soviet, French, and Australian traverses. The d values exhibit a large change going from coastal sites to high‐altitude sites on the ice sheet.

Excess energy of mixing of hydrogen-deuterium solutions

Soviet Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 1975
The complete constitution diagram of vapor-liquid-crystal solutions of hydrogen and deuterium is investigated experimentally in the temperature region from 14°K to 20°K. On the basis of the data obtained, the excess energy of mixing is calculated in the solid phase along the melting diagram.

Deuterium Isotope Effect on Excess Enthalpies of Methanol or Ethanol and Their Deuterium Derivatives at 298.15 K

Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2001
Excess enthalpies of six binary mixtures of CH3 OD+CH3 OH, CH3 OD+CD3 OD, CD3 OD+CH3 OH, C2 D5 OD+C2 H5 OH, C2 D5 OD+C2 H5 OD, C2 H5 OD+C2 H5 OH have been determined over the whole range of mole fractions at 298.15 K in order to know the isotopic effect on hydrogen-bonding accurately, although there are many reports on the differences in the strength ...

Possible excess tritium production on Pd codeposited with deuterium

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 1993
Abstract Tritium production was measured in the liquid and gas phases on Pd codeposited with deuterium from PdCl2 + LiCl + D2O solutions. During two weeks of electrolysis, in four out of six cells, average excess tritium levels of 1.9 times in the gas phase and 1.6 times in the liquid phase were found over those expected from the separation factor ...

Using deuterium excess to determine water salinization mechanism

2011 International Symposium on Water Resource and Environmental Protection, 2011
Since deuterium excess would decrease during evaporation and has little effects by isotopic composition of initial water, rather than the relationship between δ18O (or δ2H) and salinity, it is a potential tool for determining contribution of evapoconcentration and dissolution of mineral for a given water body.

Characteristics of deuterium excess parameters for geothermal water in Beijing

Environmental Earth Sciences, 2016
This study investigates the characteristics of geothermal water in 10 geothermal fields in Beijing. The relationships between the deuterium excess parameter (d) and temperature, depth, age of geothermal groundwater, groundwater flow field, and Eh were investigated using geothermal groundwater samples.

Deuterium excess reveals diurnal sources of water vapor in forest air

Oecologia, 2010
An understanding of atmospheric water vapor content and its isotopic composition is important if we are to be able to model future water vapor dynamics and their potential feedback on future climate change. Here we present diurnal and vertical patterns of water isotope ratios in forest air (δ(2)H(v) and δ(18)O(v)) not observed previously.

Extreme Deuterium Excesses in Ultracarbonaceous Micrometeorites from Central Antarctic Snow

Science, 2010
Primitive interplanetary dust is expected to contain the earliest solar system components, including minerals and organic matter. We have recovered, from central Antarctic snow, ultracarbonaceous micrometeorites whose organic matter contains extreme deuterium (D) excesses (10 to 30 times terrestrial values), extending over hundreds of square ...

Excess enthalpy of (tetrachloromethane + 2-propanone): deuterium isotope effect

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 1984
Abstract Excess enthalpies of tetrachloromethane + 2-propanone at 303.15 K and 318.15 K, and + 2-propanone-d6 at 303.15 K, have been measured.

Excess Heat Production in a Deuterium/Palladium Gas-Solid System

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
In a D-Pd gas-loading system some deuterium atoms were introduced into a palladium wire under the pressure of PD2<1atm and 8A electric current was passed through another palladium wire. The relationship between electric current and excess heat triggered by the current was studied at different conditions of reaction. Evidence of large excess heat was
