Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Energy Efficiency and Spectral Efficiency Tradeoff in Device-to-Device (D2D) Communications [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2014
In this letter, we investigate the tradeoff between energy efficiency (EE) and spectral efficiency (SE) in device-to-device communications underlaying cellular networks with uplink channel reuse.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Energy Efficiency and Sum Rate when Massive MIMO meets Device-to-Device Communication

open access: yes, 2015
This paper considers a scenario of short-range communication, known as device-to-device (D2D) communication, where D2D users reuse the downlink resources of a cellular network to transmit directly to their corresponding receivers.

Modeling unicast device-to-device communications with simuLTE [PDF]

open access: yes2016 1st International Workshop on Link- and System Level Simulations (IWSLS), 2016
In LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), device-to-device (D2D) transmissions allow two peering User Equipments to communicate directly without using the Evolved Node-B as relay. D2D is regarded as one of the enablers to bring LTE-A in the context of vehicular networks, smart cities, or M2M applications.
