Live birth in the Devonian period [PDF]
The extinct placoderm fishes were the dominant group of vertebrates throughout the Middle Palaeozoic era, yet controversy about their relationships within the gnathostomes (jawed vertebrates) is partly due to different interpretations of their reproductive biology.

Comprehensive Evaluation of In‐Situ Stress Field in Ultra‐Deep Bedrock Gas Reservoirs
Log interpretation results diagram of rock mechanical parameters for ultra‐deep bedrock in Well k1‐1. ABSTRACT Ultra‐deep bedrock gas exploration remains at a preliminary stage, where comprehensive in‐situ stress evaluation can provide crucial guidance for sweet spot prediction.

Osteichthyan-like cranial conditions in an Early Devonian stem gnathostome
The phylogeny of Silurian and Devonian (443–358 million years (Myr) ago) fishes remains the foremost problem in the study of the origin of modern gnathostomes (jawed vertebrates).

Allopatric molting of Devonian trilobites
AbstractTrilobite exuviae record the development of individual trilobites and their molting process and can also contain information on their behavior. The silt- to fine-grained tuffites of the middle part of the Middle Member of the Upper Devonian Hongguleleng Formation in western Junggar contains abundant phacopidae trilobite, specificallyOmegopssp ...

Carbon Storage in Fold‐and‐Thrust Belts: An Overlooked Gigatonne Storage Opportunity
ABSTRACT This study presents numerical investigations of the trapping characteristics of fold‐and‐thrust belt structures, defining three carbon capture and storage (CCS) play types that could be used to store commercial volumes (millions of tonnes) of CO2.

Using DZmix and DZstats models, we quantified the contributions of potential sources of the Lanzhou basin. Our findings indicate that the Cenozoic cooling and denudation signals primarily originated from Qilian and West Qinling, which were the main sediment sources.
