Understanding How the Privileged Become Violent Fanatics [PDF]
The great British biologist J.B.S Haldane counted monotheism's creation of fanaticism as one of the most important inventions of the last 5,000 years. Call it love of God or love of group, it matters little in the end.

Role of the Recombination Zone in Organic Light‐Emitting Devices
This review summarizes the critical role of the recombination zone in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). We highlight that broadening the recombination zone in OLEDs based on emissive layers with balanced charge transport and high photoluminescence quantum yields provides a promising route toward achieving both long operational lifetime and high ...

An Anomalous Case of Southern Sympathy: New Jersey\u27s Civil War Stance
A popular narrative of the Civil War assumes that all Northern states stood united behind President Abraham Lincoln in their loyalty to the Union. However, the case of New Jersey suggests that this narrative of devotion is simply a myth.

A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.

This review highlights the integration of metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and two‐dimensional (2D) materials through dimensional interface engineering. By addressing intrinsic limitations like poor conductivity and agglomeration, these hybrid architectures optimize interfacial charge and mass transport.

Recontextualising the Practices of Action, Wisdom and Devotion in Relation to Dialogue in Design [PDF]
This paper regarding ‘Maestro’ and especially discussions on teaching which ‘operates outside of schools and conventional teaching institutions’ is approached through the notion of dialogue in design and arguments raised in the Bhagavad Gita. The latter

Oxygen Evolution Reaction Catalysts for Acidic‐Media CO2 Electrolyzers
Acidic‐media CO2 electroreduction (CO2R) could decarbonize chemical production, despite relying on rare‐earth elements for anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Transferring the learnings from mature sister technologies (water electrolysis) could accelerate technological development.

Interphase Self‐Optimization Enables Stable Magnesium Anode in Hydrogel Electrolyte
Based on a MgCl2 hydrogel electrolyte, we identify a tridentate chelant additive to construct a magnesium oxychloride interphase on Mg metal anodes. This self‐optimized interphase enables low‐resistance Mg2+ stripping/plating, resulting in much elongated cycling life of 600 h with 0.24 V nucleation overpotential.
