Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development, 2016 Fishman’s 1991 scale for evaluating language vitality proposes a stage in language shift\ud where exclusively the older generation takes part in ‘rituals’, ‘concerts’ and ‘songfests’ in\ud the minority language.
