Plasma dexamethasone levels in children given the dexamethasone suppression test [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
To determine whether children who demonstrate dexamethasone suppression test (DST) nonsuppression have lower plasma dexamethasone levels than DST suppressors, we administered the DST to 73 patients ranging in age from 5-14 years.

A Circuit of Mechanically Regulated Transcription Factors Balances Regenerative and Fibrotic Memory of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Producing MSCs on rigid culture substrates induces a scar‐making phenotype, jeapordizing therapeutic success. ‘Tissue‐soft’ surfaces prevent MSC fibrogenesis and preserve regenerative traits. An epigenetic network, driven by HOXA11 and SALL1, maintains ‘soft memory’ by keeping chromatin open in relaxed MSCs, promoting anti‐fibrotic programs.

Dexamethasone for the prevention of postoperative atrial fibrillation

open access: yes, 2015
BACKGROUND: Postoperative atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common complication after cardiac surgery. Inflammation is believed to play a pivotal role in the etiology of postoperative AF.

Brain and Liver Dual‐Targeting Oridonin Nanoparticles to Enhance Aβ Clearance for Alzheimer's Disease Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed a nanoparticle named OAF, which simultaneously targeted to both the brain and liver via the transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1) receptor, promoting lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 1 (LRP1) expression to enhance amyloid‐beta (Aβ) clearance. In AD mice model, OAF significantly reduced Aβ deposition and cognitive impairment, while a mitigating

Evaluation of efficacy dexamethasone intravitreal implant compared to treatment with anti-VEGF in the treatment of diabetic macular edema

open access: yes, 2014
1. Objective: The study compares the effectiveness of an intravitreal slow-release dexamethasone implant respect to an intravitreal injection of a anti-VEGF, ranibizumab, in the treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME). 2.

ESCRT‐Mimetic Nanodegrader Targets STING for Anti‐Inflammatory Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nanoplatform‐enabled targeted protein degradation strategy is presented to regulate aberrant STING signaling. STING‐ATTEC induces selective autophagic degradation of STING via formation of a STING–ATTEC–LC3 ternary complex, while the cationic FA‐LNP+ system enhances LC3 generation and targeted delivery. Together, this synergistic approach efficiently

INDEX study: intravenous dexamethasone palmitate for prophylaxis of postoperative nausea and vomiting: a study protocol for a randomised controlled study

open access: yesBMJ Open
Introduction Dexamethasone is commonly used to prevent postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). However, PONV is an unresolved complex problem; even with preoperative dexamethasone administration, 14.0%–26.3% of patients undergoing minimally invasive ...

Multi‐Omics Profiling Reveals Immunomodulatory and Pro‐Regenerative Effects of a Graphene Oxide–Collagen Scaffold in Massive Rotator Cuff Tears

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A graphene oxide/collagen scaffold is developed for chronic massive rotator cuff tear repair. The scaffold improves compressive stability, supports reparative mesenchymal differentiation, and modulates the immune microenvironment. In chronic MRCT models, it reduces muscle degeneration, enhances tendon–bone regeneration, and improves functional recovery,
