Geographic Variation in Diving Behaviour and Skin Isotope Ratios of Northern Bottlenose Whales, Hyperoodon ampullatus

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
High‐resolution multi‐sensor tag data from northern bottlenose whale populations in the northeast and northwest Atlantic showed differences in resting and foraging time budgets and behaviour. Skin biopsy stable isotopes corroborated likely dietary differences. Variability between populations has far‐reaching relevance for ecology and conservation, with

Detection of DGA-based Botnets

open access: yes
Botnety predstavujú vážne hrozby pre kybernetickú bezpečnosť, pričom sú schopné spôsobiť rozsiahle škody na počítačových sieťach a systémoch. Významným spôsobom, akým botnety skrývajú svoju existenciu a komunikujú so servermi, je používanie algoritmov ...

Gallic Acid‐Mediated Enhancement of Diazepam‐Induced Sedation via GABAA Receptor Modulation: In Vivo and In Silico Evaluation

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
Gallic acid (GA) dose‐dependently reduced sleep latency and prolonged sleep duration in thiopental sodium‐induced mice, with synergistic effects when combined with diazepam. Molecular docking revealed GA's higher binding affinity (−9.8 kcal/mol) to GABAA receptor (α1 and β2 subunits) than diazepam (−8.4 kcal/mol), suggesting GABAergic potential ...

Influence of Soil and Land‐Use/Land‐Cover Data Quality on SWAT Parameter Transferability in Small Subtropical Agricultural Watersheds

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 6, June 2026.
Does input soil and land‐use quality affect SWAT parameter transfer in neighbouring watersheds? Our proxy‐basin experiment in two small agricultural watersheds under crop–livestock rotations showed that capturing LULC dynamics and refining soil characterization can substantially enhance parameter transferability to ungauged neighbouring watersheds ...

Functional thermodynamics govern the ligand binding to human cytosolic transport proteins

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Traditional binding studies on cellular, molecular transporters often simplify the thermodynamics of binding processes. We present a method that combines spin probing, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy and spectral simulations with binding studies and thermodynamics for an in‐depth molecular view into ligand binding and ...

Calcium and Multi‐Isotope Constraints on Cation Exchange in Groundwater

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Cation exchange is one of the most important processes in water‐rock interaction in the presence of clay minerals, with a common Ca‐Mg‐Na exchange system. However, systematic verification of Ca isotopes for tracing cation exchange in natural environments is lacking due to overlapping factors, such as dissolution‐precipitation of Ca‐minerals ...

Biodiesel Production From Canola Oil by Titanium Dioxide‐Photocatalysed Transesterification

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 6, June 2026.
Photocatalytic transesterification of canola oil over TiO2 under UVA irradiation enables biodiesel production under mild conditions. Yields up to 73% FAME and 38% FAEE were achieved, with negative Gibbs free energy (ΔG < 0) confirming thermodynamic favourability.

A TRANSATLANTIC PERSPECTIVE ON POPULISM(S): WHAT’S GOING ON?

open access: yesRevista Internacional de Pensamiento Político, 2018
This paper addresses the similarities and differences between forms of populism in Europe and Trumpism. It evaluates three factors that are commonly perceived as explaining recent events, such as Brexit and the election of election of Donald Trump: a ...

Heat acclimation improves the neural control of body temperature during heat stress in older adults

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 12, Page 4968-4983, 15 June 2026.
Abstract figure legend The neural control of body temperature during heat stress was compared between younger and older adults before and after 7 days of passive heat acclimation (hot water immersion; rectal temperature ≥38.5°C for 1 h). Pre‐acclimation, the onset threshold for increases in skin sympathetic nerve activity, cutaneous vascular ...
