On the structure of DHR bimodules of abstract spin chains

open access: yes
Abstract spin chains axiomatize the structure of local observables on the 1D lattice which are invariant under a global symmetry, and arise at the physical boundary of 2+1D topologically ordered spin systems. In this paper, we study tensor categorical properties of DHR bimodules over abstract spin chains.

CD177 Deficiency Defines a Stable Subtype of Human Neutrophil Granulocytes with Tumor Promoting Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 52, 18 September 2026.
Human neutrophils exist as two epigenetically imprinted subtypes defined by stable CD177 expression or absence — a ratio that persists across time, circadian rhythms, and inflammation. CD177− neutrophils display a distinct molecular landscape enriched in arginase 1 and lipid metabolism markers, accumulate in head‐and‐neck tumors, and associate with ...

Posture‐Related Regional Homogeneity Abnormalities in Cerebral Small Vessel Disease: A Multi‐Position MRI Study

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2026.
Patients with CSVD showed higher upright ReHo in anterior cingulate gyrus (ACG) than NCs, and supine‐upright comparison revealed widespread ReHo alterations. Upright ACG ReHo and posture‐related ReHo changes in the hippocampus, putamen, and calcarine cortex were associated with poorer cognition and greater CSVD burden, suggesting that upright imaging ...

Variability in Overwinter Antarctic Krill Transport Pathways and Connectivity in the South‐West Atlantic Sector of the Southern Ocean

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology Communications, Volume 1, Issue 3, September 2026.
Our study demonstrates that particles transported within sea ice are advected over substantially larger distances compared with those transported solely by ocean currents, indicating that sea ice dynamics play a dominant role in enhancing long‐range particle dispersal in the Southern Ocean relative to ocean‐only transport.

Interview met dhr. Jelmer Schalk

open access: yes, 2012

Resveratrol: Advance on the Most Recent Research From 2021 to 2025

open access: yesPhytochemicals in Food and Medicine, Volume 1, Issue 3, September 2026.
This review summarizes recent progress in resveratrol research (2021–2025), highlighting its natural sources, bioactivities, clinical evidence, and safety profiles. Resveratrol exerts multi‐target effects through the regulation of oxidative stress, inflammation, mitochondrial function, and gut microbiota.

DHR bimodules and topological holography

open access: yes
Nets of associative algebras over metric spaces are a clean, algebraic way to axiomatize the local kinematics of quantum systems with spatial degrees of freedom. In this talk, we will introduce the braided tensor category of DHR bimodules associated to a

Tunable Fabrication of 2D‐Layered Magnesium Nanosilicates With Hemostatic Properties

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2026.
Tunable 2D magnesium nanosilicates form bioactive protein coronas, support cellular internalization, and promote hemostatic activity. These nanoclays enable shear‐thinning gel formation and reduce clotting time and blood loss, highlighting their potential for wound‐management applications. Tunable fabrication of inorganic two‐dimensional (2D) nanoclays
