Effect of dust size and structure on scattered light images of protoplanetary discs [PDF]
We study scattered light properties of protoplanetary discs at near-infrared wavelengths for various dust size and structure by performing radiative transfer simulations.

Rapid and sensitive detection of pathogens is critical in interrupting the transmission chain of infectious diseases. Currently, real-time (RT-)PCR represents the gold standard for the detection of SARS-CoV-2. RNase HII-assisted amplification (RHAM) is a

Hydrogel Thermostat Inspired by Photoprotective Foliage Using Latent and Radiative Heat Control
Guided by Populus alba foliage, this hydrogel latent‐radiative thermostat (LRT) actively balances latent and radiative heat fluxes. An LRT switches solar reflectance, maintains high mid‐IR emissivity, and reversibly evaporates/regenerates water, while titanium oxide (TiO2) nanoparticles toughen the film.

A Solid State Zwitterionic Plastic Crystal With High Static Dielectric Constant
Developing solid high dielectric constant materials has been a research focus in the energy storage field. In this research, we discovered a zwitterion with a plastic crystal phase. Due to the short‐range degree of freedom of the dipole moment for this zwitterion, a relatively high static dielectric constant has been achieved in its solid state ...
