ABSTRACT The present study has investigated two objectives. First, it examines the unconditional impact of economic policy uncertainty (EPU) on Africa's structural transformation. Second, it explores the conditional role of human resource development in the nexus between economic policy uncertainty (EPU) and structural transformation.

Dihydrotanshinone I promotes LDL uptake by HepG2 cells through increasing LDLR level
Dihydrotanshinone I (DHT), a lipophilic compound extracted from Salvia miltiorrhiza, has cardiovascular protective effects, but the underlying molecular mechanisms of action have rarely been reported.

Atomic Commitment in Transactional DHTs
We investigate the problem of atomic commit in transactional database systems built on top of Distributed Hash Tables. DHTs provide a decentralized way to store and look up data. To solve the atomic commit problem we propose to use an adaption of Paxos commit as a non-blocking algorithm.

ABSTRACT Prostate cancer (PCa) is an endocrine‐related cancer highly dependent on androgenic signaling. Beyond hormone dependence, extrinsic factors play a significant role in the risk of developing PCa, which raises concern about the influence of environmental compounds such as endocrine‐disrupting chemicals (EDCs). Tributyltin (TBT) is an EDC used in

Healthy Aging Men Do Not Suffer From Relevant Limitations of Their Reproductive Functions
Abstract Background While metabolic disorders are well‐established contributors to testosterone decline and erectile dysfunction (ED), little is known about the natural progression of reproductive parameters in healthy aging men. Objectives This study aimed to evaluate longitudinal changes in reproductive parameters and sought to determine the ...

The Relationship Between Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and Depression
ABSTRACT Objective Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a prevalent endocrine disorder, frequently accompanied by psychological comorbidities including depression. The aim of this narrative review is to summarise the latest research regarding potential contributors to and underpinning mechanisms of this relationship.

A denial-of-service resistant DHT
We consider the problem of designing scalable and robust information systems based on multiple servers that can survive even massive denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. More precisely, we are focusing on designing a scalable distributed hash table (DHT) that is robust against so-called past insider attacks.

ABSTRACT Background Recent decades have seen the emergence of primary care and community (PCC) based dental education in settings that are separate to dental teaching hospitals, including general dental practice and salaried dental services. By mirroring care delivery in these services, this experience can facilitate students' transition to independent

Replication in DHTs Using Dynamic Groups [PDF]
Distributed Hash Tables (DHTs) provide an efficient solution for data location and lookup in large-scale P2P systems. However, it is up to the applications to deal with the availability of the data they store in the DHT, e.g. via replication. To improve data availability, most DHT applications rely on data replication.
