Impact of climate on the migration phenology of the endangered Little Bustard in Spain

open access: yesIbis, EarlyView.
The phenology of animals is closely tied to seasonal climatic patterns so, by altering temperature and precipitation regimes, climate change disrupts the phenological cycles of species. More specifically, the influence of rising temperatures on the phenology of bird migration has been long studied.

Geographical distribution of Hyalomma marginatum Koch, 1844 in northwestern Spain from 2019 to 2024: A one health approach

open access: yesMedical and Veterinary Entomology, EarlyView.
This study confirms the presence of the tick Hyalomma marginatum Koch, 1844, a known vector of the Crimean‐Congo hemorrhagic fever virus at Galicia. Most ticks were encountered on humans and livestock, with numbers rising between 2019 and 2024, especially during spring and in warm‐summer Mediterranean southwest areas of the studied region.

Evidence for Countergradient Growth Adaptation and Jordan's Rule in a Southern Hemisphere Fish, the Atherinopsid Odontesthes regia

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
We performed common garden experiments on offspring of the sea silverside Odontesthes regia to characterize thermal growth reaction norms of different populations along the Chilean coast. This showed that the species exhibits local adaptation in the form of countergradient growth adaptation because higher‐latitude southern populations grew faster at ...

Assessment of plankton community and environmental conditions in São Sebastião Channel prior to the construction of a produced water outfall

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Oceanography, 1999
Plankton community and hydrological conditions were assessed as a part of ao environmental diagnosis in São Sebastião Channel, before the building of a submarine outfall of produced water from the oil maritime terminal of PETR08RÁS.

LONG-TERM IMPACT OF MAIZE AGROECOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT ON BACTERIAL COMMUNITIES AND SOIL HEALTH IN THE ARID NORTH OF MEXICO

open access: yesTropical and Subtropical Agroecosystems, 2023
Background. Soil management practices modify the microbial communities and the carbon stocks (organic, inorganic, and total). The increase in microbiological communities’ diversity improves the production of plants; thus, it is essential to understand ...

Agreement of Diaphragmatic Excursion Between Anterior Subcostal and Posterior Subcostal Ultrasonography in Premature Neonates

open access: yesPediatric Pulmonology, Volume 61, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Diaphragmatic ultrasound (DUS) is a non‐invasive technique used to assess diaphragmatic function in neonates. However, the assessment of the diaphragm in the prone position is limited, as DUS traditionally uses the supine position.

Biodiversity, spatial, and seasonal distribution of the zooplankton community in semi-intensive fish farms in Rondônia state, Brazil

open access: yesBoletim do Instituto de Pesca
In this study we determined the spatial and seasonal distribution (rainfall and drought) of the zooplankton community in 30 fish farms in the microregions of Vale do Jamari and Central-East of Rondônia.

Little devils of Neotropical forests: A first molecular phylogeny of stygnid harvestmen with UCE‐museomics and a gigamatrix approach (Arachnida, Opiliones, Stygnidae)

open access: yesSystematic Entomology, Volume 51, Issue 3, July‐September 2026.
First family‐wide phylogenomic framework of Stygnidae using UCE‐museomics and a gigamatrix approach establishes a novel three‐subfamily classification, erecting the new subfamily Auraninae subfam. nov. Signatures of severe incomplete lineage sorting and short deep internodes suggest a rapid early‐burst Neotropical radiation, driving phylogenetic ...
