Diagnostic reproducibility of periodontal indices

Journal of Periodontal Research, 1977
Relatively few studies have assessed the diagnostic reproducibility of periodontal indices. In the present investigation, the changes in Gingival Index and Plaque Index scores were measured by carrying out 203 duplicate examinations on 11–13 year old children.Reproducibility of diagnosis was assessed by applying the paired t test and the coefficient of

Assessment of diagnostic and prognostic condition indices for efficient and robust maintenance decision-making of systems subject to stress corrosion cracking

open access: yesReliability Engineering and System Safety, 2017
International audienceSeeking condition indices characterizing the health state of a system is a key problem in condition-based maintenance. For this purpose, diagnostic and prognostic models have been unceasingly developed and improved over the past few

Application of Indicators, Predictors and Diagnostic Indices in Coagulation Disorders

open access: yesMethods of Information in Medicine, 1980
A theoretical model for the evaluation of binary and continuous diagnostic variables by indicators and predictors was recently described by Sebag and Hall [5].

THE APPEARANCE OF THE ADOLESCENT AS A DIAGNOSTIC INDICATOR

Pediatrics, 1966

On Generalized Indices of Diagnostic Efficiency

Biometrical Journal, 1982
AbstractThe usual definitions of sensitivity, specificity and predictive value of a diagnostic testTrefer only to the situation of the presence or absence of disease. There is then question of the appropriate extensions of these definitions in cases where there are more than two diagnostic categories, especially with ordered or graded responses.

Diagnostic indicators of elevated nitrogen deposition

Environmental Pollution, 2006
Tissue N content of mosses, which has been shown to be an indicator of enhanced N, was studied at a range of locations dominated either by wet or dry deposited and oxidised and reduced forms of N. Tissue N responded differently to wet and dry deposited N.

The Interaural Intensity Difference as a Diagnostic Indicator

Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1971
A simple sound Iateralization task, based on interaural intensity differences, has been developed as a tool for diagnosing central auditory disorders. Simultaneous white noise bursts are presented di-chotically at an equal sensation level. The intensity is then raised in 1 dB steps in the test ear until the sound image is located at that ear.

Diagnostic Results and Indications

2015
The relationship between the data obtained from provocative tests and angiographically assessed coronary artery disease is usually expressed in terms of sensitivity (the frequency of a positive test result in a population of patients with coronary artery disease) and specificity (the frequency of a negative test result in a population of patients ...

Oral pathoses as diagnostic indicators in leukemia

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1980
A retrospective chart review of 500 leukemia patients was carried out to analyze the role of oral pathoses in the presentation of leukemia and to determine those factors which affect the frequency of oral involvement during the initial clinical phases of the disease.

Thoracoscopy: present diagnostic and therapeutic indications

European Respiratory Journal, 1993
Thoracoscopy is increasingly being used for diagnosis and treatment of pleuropulmonary disease. The recent revival was made possible by the tremendous advances in endoscopic technology. The main requirements for diagnostic purposes are rigid telescopes and forceps, and for interventional thoracoscopy scissors, staplers and a video recorder.
