Carbon finance initiatives can provide biodiversity benefits
Conservation Science and Practice, EarlyView.We evaluated the biodiversity co‐benefits of a REDD+ initiative in the tropical forests of Sierra Leone and Liberia using a quasi‐experimental study design. Complementary measures from bioacoustics and DNA metabarcoding revealed that REDD+‐financed protected areas were associated with additional biodiversity benefits compared to control areas.
