Kinetic and structural characterisation of domain‐specific angiotensin I‐converting enzyme inhibition by captopril, rentiapril and zofenoprilat

Angiotensin I‐converting enzyme (ACE) contains two catalytic domains (nACE and cACE) and is a key therapeutic target for hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Current ACE inhibitors (ACEi) nonselectively inhibit both domains, causing adverse effects. Selective inhibition requires an understanding of domain‐specific binding.

Opposing roles of DGAT‐mediated lipid droplet biogenesis in the regulation of ferroptosis sensitivity

Ferroptosis is driven by unrestricted peroxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acyl (PUFA) chains in membrane phospholipids. In triple‐negative breast cancer cells, lipid droplets (LDs) sequester dietary PUFAs, limiting their incorporation into membrane phospholipids, preventing mitochondrial damage, and reducing lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis.

Rights, Pains and Illusions: The Experiences of Welsh‐Speakers at Wales’ ‘Flagship’ Prison

ABSTRACT This article challenges claims of ‘inherent’ bilingualism in Wales’ largest prison, HMP Berwyn. Drawing on semi‐structured interviews and extensive documentary research, we find that Welsh‐speaking prisoners at this ‘flagship’ prison have experienced widespread neglect of their needs and overt interferences with their use of the Welsh language.
