Feasibility Study of Multi-Wavelength Differential Absorption LIDAR for CO2 Monitoring

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2016
To obtain a better understanding of carbon cycle and accurate climate prediction models, highly accurate and temporal resolution observation of atmospheric CO2 is necessary. Differential absorption LIDAR (DIAL) remote sensing is a promising technology to

MS-DIAL 5 multimodal mass spectrometry data mining unveils lipidome complexities

open access: yesbioRxiv
Lipidomics and metabolomics communities comprise various informatics tools; however, software programs that can handle multimodal mass spectrometry (MS) data with structural annotations guided by the Lipidomics Standards Initiative are limited.

Dial-in Topological Metamaterials Based on Bistable Stewart Platform [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Recently, there have been significant efforts to guide mechanical energy in structures by relying on a novel topological framework popularized by the discovery of topological insulators.

Estimating microcredit impact with low take-up, contamination and inconsistent data. A replication study of Crépon, Devoto, Duflo, and Parienté (American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, 2015)

open access: yesInternational Journal for Re-Views in Empirical Economics, 2019
We replicate a flagship randomised control trial carried out in rural Morocco that showed substantial and significant impacts of microcredit on the assets, the outputs, the expenses and the profits of self-employment activities. The original results rely

Local Chemical Gradients in a Mammalian Cortex Measured In Vivo With a Silicon Nanodialysis Mass Spectrometry Platform

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Fluorescence image of the coronal slice of mouse brain where multiple neurochemicals have been measured in vivo with a nanodialysis platform coupled to CE‐MS to reveal strong millimeter‐scale spatial chemical gradients. Formation and maintenance of such local chemical compartments in the otherwise diffusion‐homogeneous cortex indicates strong ...

Influence of Rayleigh-Doppler broadening on the selection of H2O dial system parameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
Computer simulations have enabled the performance of a H2O Differential Absorption Lidar (DIAL) system to be studied by spectrally analyzing the forward propagating and backscattered laser energy.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Minimum Makespan Multi-vehicle Dial-a-Ride [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Dial a ride problems consist of a metric space (denoting travel time between vertices) and a set of m objects represented as source-destination pairs, where each object requires to be moved from its source to destination vertex.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Correction of Doppler-broadened Rayleigh backscattering effects in H2O dial measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
A general method of solutions for treating effects of Doppler-broadened Rayleigh backscattering in H2O Differential Absorption Lidar (DIAL) measurements are described and discussed. Errors in vertical DIAL measuremtns caused by this laser line broadening
