The Dual Face of Workplace AI: A Typology of Digital Work Configurations and Job Quality Implications in Europe

open access: yesNew Technology, Work and Employment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping European labour markets, yet research tends to examine worker AI adoption and employer algorithmic management as separate phenomena. This paper develops a typology classifying workers into four digital work configurations based on AI tool usage intensity and algorithmic control exposure: Non‐Digital ...

An Analysis of Wrist Motions During Daily Activities From a Directional Perspective: The Significance of Directions Beyond the Dart‐Throwing Motion

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 1486-1502, May 2025.
The study using an optical capture system revealed the directional characteristics of wrist functional motion. The results highlighted the directional range of motion (ROM), differences in preferences between genders and age groups, and identified three key directions most frequently utilized. ABSTRACT Background Previous studies on Activities of Daily

Combined Posterolateral Corner and Proximal Tibiofibular Joint Anatomic Reconstruction: A Surgical Strategy for Complex Posterolateral Knee Instability

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
A novel anatomic surgical strategy for simultaneous stabilization of the posterolateral corner and proximal tibiofibular joint is described. By using independent graft tensioning and angle‐specific fixation, this reproducible technique successfully restores global knee stability, addressing a complex injury pattern previously lacking a standardized ...

Marital Dissolution, Repartnering, and the Realization of Fertility Desires in Sub‐Saharan Africa

open access: yesPopulation and Development Review, EarlyView.
Abstract Women who experience union disruption in sub‐Saharan Africa tend to have lower fertility than those in stable unions. It remains unclear, however, whether this pattern reflects lower fertility desires, constrained opportunities to achieve desired fertility, or both.

Difference‐Making Under Metaphysical Indeterminacy

open access: yesPhilosophy &Public Affairs, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Many of the most pressing moral problems we face involve collective harms generated by large numbers of individually insignificant actions. Unlike triggering cases—where a threshold exists such that a single act could be decisive—non‐triggering cases lack any such sharp cutoff.

Middlebrow Aesthetics: An Explanation and Defense

open access: yesPacific Philosophical Quarterly, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We offer a philosophical account of the middlebrow as a theoretical category to do explanatory and critical work in aesthetics. On our account, the middlebrow ought to be understood as aspirational popular art. That is, it is art which aspires both to be popular (in a distinctive sense), and at the same time to be something more than popular ...

Geometrical isomerization of hydroxycinnamic acid under UV‐light: Structural plasticity as a driver of metabolite complexity

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
UV irradiation drives metabolite complexity through photoisomerization of hydroxycinnamic acid‐containing compounds in plants. The olefin functional group of hydroxycinnamic acid enables structural plasticity through trans/cis isomerization. Multiple chromophores within a molecule can amplify UV‐induced transformations.
