Symmetry‐Restricted Energy Landscapes as a Benchmark for Machine Learned Interatomic Potentials
We present a benchmark for assessing the physical accuracy of machine‐learned interatomic potentials. By constructing two‐dimensional potential energy surface slices along symmetry‐allowed degrees of freedom and comparing them with DFT, the benchmark reveals model strengths, weaknesses, and artifacts, providing an easily interpretable test of energy ...

Portable laser-heating system for diamond anvil cells
The diamond anvil cell (DAC) technique coupled with laser heating has become the most successful method for studying materials in the multimegabar pressure range at high temperatures. However, so far all DAC laser-heating systems have been stationary: they are linked either to certain equipment or to a beamline.

Outstanding TC Enhancement in 5d–3d Y2NiIrO6 by Compression
Double perovskite Y2NiIrO6 with half filed 3d eg–5d t2g configuration, exhibits first experimental example of pressure‐enhanced magnetic interaction in iridate and iridate‐related systems. Its Curie temperature increase from 192 to 243 K at 17 GPa. Herein, the orthogonal eg–t2g pathway remains robust even under compression‐induced lattice distortion ...

Development of micro-XANES mapping in the diamond anvil cell
Energy-dispersive X-ray absorption spectroscopy is now a well established method that has been applied to a broad range of applications. At the energy-dispersive EXAFS beamline of the ESRF, ID24, the recently achieved 5 x 5 microm focal spot combined with fast acquisition has allowed complex and non-uniform samples to be mapped and images to be ...

This study demonstrates, for the first time, the use of a large‐format high‐pressure press to modify synthesized Li2SrSiO4:Eu2+,Cs+ phosphors after its preparation. The pressure treatment results in the formation of new materials with distinctive optical properties, opening pathways for the development of advanced LED devices and high‐performance ...

Reidite Formation From Zircon Subjected to 20, 40, and 60 GPa Shock Experiments
Structure disordering as a result of shock pressure: In zircon shocked from 20 to 60 GPa, the shock‐induced structural disorder increases with increasing shock pressure (gray area). Shock disorder of zircon is an integral part of its transformation to reidite: Reidite occurs after amorphous material.
