Modeling Diamond Blackfan Anemia in the Zebrafish

Seminars in Hematology, 2011
Diamond Blackfan anemia (DBA) is a rare congenital anemia, with more than 50% of patients having mutations in a ribosomal protein. Evidence suggests that both translation and p53 activation play roles in mediating the hematopoietic phenotype. The reason for erythroid specificity of DBA is unclear.

Modeling polydispersive ensembles of diamond nanoparticles

Nanotechnology, 2013
While significant progress has been made toward production of monodispersed samples of a variety of nanoparticles, in cases such as diamond nanoparticles (nanodiamonds) a significant degree of polydispersivity persists, so scaling-up of laboratory applications to industrial levels has its challenges.

Band model for electron emission from diamond-like carbon and diamond

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1998
Electron field emission data from diamond-like carbon and diamond is summarised and a band model is proposed to interpret it. The model is constructed from existing data on electron affinities and band offsets, within a theory of band offsets. In diamond, there is a large offset for the conduction band at the back-contact, causing this to be the ...

Das Modell von Diamond (1984)

2000

Enhancing the Diamond Document Warehouse Model

International Journal of Data Warehousing and Mining, 2020
The data warehouse community has paid particular attention to the document warehouse (DocW) paradigm during the last two decades. However, some important issues related to the semantics are still pending and therefore need a deep research investigation.

Predictive model for minimum chip thickness and size effect in single diamond grain grinding of zirconia ceramics under different lubricating conditions

Ceramics International, 2019
To address the current bottleneck of debris formation mechanism in plastic removal for hard-brittle materials, a minimum chip thickness ( h min ) model that considers lubrication conditions (represented by frictional angle β ) is developed according to ...

Modelling of stress-induced diamond nucleation

Diamond and Related Materials, 1995
Abstract PM3 semi-empirical calculations have been used to model the primary diamond nucleation in the graphite-like initial carbon layer usually produced on substrates other than diamond. The effect of quenched-in density increase was simulated by compressing the graphitic environment (represented by a small graphite cluster with cyclic boundary ...

Macroscopic model of diamond crystal growth

Moscow University Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, 2015
Elementary atomic structures of carbon are selected via the deposition of methyl radicals from the gas phase, and a kinetic scheme of the diamond crystal growth process is proposed. A macroscopic model of the growth process is developed in an average field approximation that corresponds to the kinetic scheme.
