Summary o (1) A method of measuring the difference in height of the diaphragm as seen in consecutive x-ray films of the same person and using a standard radiological technique is described. (2) The range of variation in the height of the diaphragm has been measured in a control group of 30 non-pregnant women of childbearing age.

Diaphragm pacing is an established mode of ventilation for patients with upper motor neuron injury and preserved phrenic nerve function. Careful patient evaluation with regard to phrenic nerve function, motivation, and adequate psychosocial support is paramount for successful pacing.

Pseudorupture of the diaphragm
Injury, 1994A 57-year-old man attended the Accident and Emergency Department having fallen 2-3 ft (0.6-0.9 m) from a ladder and injured the left side of his chest. He was complaining of increasing shortness of breath and left-sided chest pain on inspiration. Clinical examination revealed mild dyspnoea and tenderness over the lower left ribs. He was noted to have a

To the Editor.— We appreciated the article (241:1929, 1979) entitled "Isolated Rupture of the Right Hemidiaphragm With Eventration of the Liver," by Neal W. Salomon, MD, and Charles F. Zukoski, MD, and believe that it does seem to emphasize an important diagnosis—rupture of the right diaphragm.

An Optical Fiber Fabry-Perot Microphone Based on Corrugated Silver Diaphragm
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2018A corrugated silver diaphragm-based optical fiber microphone (OFM), formed by extrinsic Fabry–Perot interferometric structure, was proposed. The sensor’s sensitivity was improved by releasing diaphragm’s initial stress with the help of corrugations.

Only 2 types of diaphragms are readily available in Australia -- the coil-spring and the flat-spring diaphragms. The coil spring diaphragm contains a round spiral coiled metal wire in the rim and this is encircled with rubber. This type of diaphragm is particularly suitable for women who have strong vaginal muscles a deep arch behind the symphysis ...

Primary tumors of the diaphragm are rare. The most common benign cystic lesions of the diaphragm are bronchogenic or mesothelial cysts, while the most common benign solid lesion is a lipoma. Benign tumors of the diaphragm are resected if they are symptomatic or if there is a doubt about the diagnosis.

AbstractDiaphragmatic neurilemmomas are rare tumors. We report here such a case and also review five cases from the English‐language medical literature. Neurilemmomas of the diaphragm are benign tumors that display slow, progressive growth. They remain encapsulated and do not invade adjacent structures.
