Spontaneous Rupture of a Congenital Diaphragmatic Eventration in an Infant
Rupture of eventration of diaphragm is a rare entity that commonly presents as sudden onset respiratory distress. We report a case of a 7-month-old infant with congenital diaphragmatic eventration having spontaneous diaphragmatic rupture which led to ...

We present a multidecadal analysis of the seismic response of a midrise reinforced concrete (RC) building in Taipei, Taiwan, combining legacy strong‐motion accelerograph (SMA‐1) data with recent recordings from a dense array of low‐cost microelectromechanical systems (MEMS)‐based Quake Structural Integrity System (QSIS) sensors.

Fragility Functions for Plasterboard‐Sheathed Walls in Light Timber‐Framed Residential Houses
In New Zealand, plasterboard‐sheathed walls (PSWs) are commonly used as partition walls and seismic bracing walls in low‐rise light timber‐framed (LTF) residential houses. A significant barrier to assessing seismic losses of the LTF residential houses in New Zealand is the lack of fragility functions of these PSWs.

Reduced Phrenic CMAP Amplitudes in Obesity Despite Preserved Diaphragm Ultrasound Measures
ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims Phrenic nerve conduction studies (NCS) are regularly used in the evaluation of neuromuscular respiratory dysfunction; however, the impact of body mass index (BMI) on phrenic compound muscle action potential (CMAP) amplitudes remains poorly characterized. We evaluated the relationship between BMI and phrenic CMAP amplitudes in

A case of spontaneous rupture of hepatocellular carcinoma mimicking a diaphragm tumor: Reconstruction of the diaphragm using a latissimus dorsi muscle flap [PDF]
論文(Article)Spontaneous rupture of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is sometimes encountered clinically. We experienced a case of spontaneous rupture of a HCC, which was surgically resected along with the diaphragm.A 74-year old woman presented with anemia.

This work investigates a free‐breathing six‐echo radial stack‐of‐stars acquisition as an alternative to Cartesian breath‐hold scans for pancreatic fat quantification at 3T. In 18 participants with obesity enrolled in a randomized controlled lifestyle intervention (LION), segmented pancreatic volumes and PDFF demonstrated excellent inter‐sequence ...

ABSTRACT Ensuring uncompromised safety across interconnected domains is vital for global societal sustainability. Metal–organic framework (MOF)‐based nanocomposites, owing to their intrinsically tunable structures and broad functional versatility, represent a powerful class of materials for safety‐related engineering.

Necrotic adrenal myelolipoma in a geriatric dog
Abstract Adrenal myelolipomas are rare in dogs and usually incidental findings. They appear as hyperechoic, heterogeneous masses on ultrasound and fat‑dominant lesions on computed tomography (CT). An 11‑year‑old Spaniel cross presented with a 2‑day history of diarrhoea, vomiting and polyuria/polydipsia.

We present a case of missed diaphragmatic rupture which was treated thoracoscopically. Rupture of the diaphragm is a serious complication of blunt trauma. The diaphragmatic injury can easily be overlooked.
