Metal‐Organic Framework‐Based Materials for Zinc‐Halogen (Br2, I2) Batteries: Mechanisms and Performance

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 2, March 2026.
This article provides a comprehensive strategic analysis of MOFs for the zinc‐halide batteries, how MOF architectures address critical challenges, specifically the “shuttle effect” and “sluggish kinetics” by physically confining polyhalides and enhancing electrocatalytic activity.

Enhanced Hydrogen Evolution Reaction Performance of Ni‐Doped MoS2 with 1T Structure for Alkaline Water Electrolyzer: Introduction of 1T Phase and Morphological Optimization Through Co‐Sputtering Technique

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 2, March 2026.
The hydrogen evolution reaction activity of Ni‐doped MoS2 is enhanced by optimizing sputtering parameters in co‐sputtering. Sputtering power controls morphology and Ni doping which promotes 1T yield and activates basal planes. Sputtering time changes 1T yield regardless of Ni ratio.

Combined Vertical and Horizontal Components of Near‐Source Earthquakes and Impact on Base‐Isolated Structures

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 55, Issue 3, Page 781-803, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Over recent decades, the collection of seismic data has improved the understanding of near‐fault ground motion effects, which involve both horizontal and vertical components. Among the most significant effects are fault‐normal directivity, which concentrates seismic energy into an intense, long‐period pulse, and fault‐parallel fling step ...

Seismic Performance and Generalized Damage Risk of Modular Cross Laminated Timber Houses Across Ten United States Cities

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 55, Issue 3, Page 687-703, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Housing shortages in the United States and the pursuit of sustainable and resilient communities have positioned cross‐laminated timber (CLT) housing as a promising alternative due to the ability to design for modularity, ease of construction, and low embodied carbon performance.

Coupling Parsivel2 Measured Raindrop Size Distributions and Fall Velocity Estimates to Characterise Rainfall Simulators

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 3, March 2026.
This study characterises drip‐type and pressurised rainfall simulators using photographic, disdrometric and empirical fall‐velocity approaches. Results show that the Parsivel2 optical disdrometer systematically underestimates raindrop fall velocity for both simulator types.

Real‐Time MRI With Deep Learning for Efficient Evaluation of Neuromuscular Breathing Impairment

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
Breathing impairment is an important and common symptom in neuromuscular disorders. Reliable diagnostics are highly warranted. Real‐time MRI and deep learning‐based lung segmentation were used to analyze respiratory mechanics in patients with Pompe disease, a myopathy with diaphragmatic weakness, compared to healthy controls.

Multileaf Faraday cup for beam energy verification in radiation therapy with ultra‐high dose‐rate electron beams and ion beams

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 53, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Background In radiotherapy and particle therapy, the stability of the beam energy must be checked routinely during quality assurance. This is of particular importance when varying the dose rate via the beam intensity of the accelerator in order to study the FLASH effect when comparing irradiations with conventional and ultra‐high dose rates ...

Synergistic Anode and Cathode Stabilization in Aqueous Zn‐Ion Batteries via a pH‐Stabilizing and Interface‐Adsorbing Additive

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 16, 17 March 2026.
A multifunctional additive, SSA, enables highly reversible aqueous zinc‐ion batteries by synergistically stabilizing both electrodes. It buffers interfacial pH to suppress side reactions, induces (002)‐oriented Zn deposition, and maintains an acidic environment to enhance polyaniline cathode stability.
