Initiation and Carbene Induced Radical Chain Reactions in CH2F2 Pyrolysis

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 25, Issue 15, August 1, 2024.
A multi‐diagnostic experimental effort supported by ab‐initio based theoretical kinetics predictions and kinetics modeling resolves uncertainties in the initiation kinetics and identifies new secondary pathways in CH2F2 thermal dissociation. Abstract High temperature dissociations of organic molecules typically involve a competition between radical and

Diaphragmless single-pulse shock tube for high-temperature chemical kinetics studies

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 2019
Single-pulse shock tubes are effective tools for measuring chemical kinetics at high temperatures, typically (900–1400) K. However, the use of a diaphragm for shock generation leads to significant shock-to-shock inconsistencies in temperature for a constant initial pressure ratio across the discontinuity.

The Characterization and Feasibility of a Low-Duty-Cycle Diaphragmless Shock Tube [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The feasibility and characterization of a novel diaphragmless shock tube was examined at the National Aerothermochemistry Laboratory at Texas A&M University. The goal was to design a facility that reliably produces shock waves through air in a repeatable

Shock Tube Investigation of CH3 + CH3OCH3

open access: yes, 2016
The title reaction has been investigated in a diaphragmless shock tube by laser schlieren densitometry over the temperature range 1163–1629 K and pressures of 60, 120, and 240 Torr.

Single Pulse Shock Tube Study of Allyl Radical Recombination

open access: yes, 2016
The recombination and disproportionation of allyl radicals has been studied in a single pulse shock tube with gas chromatographic measurements at 1–10 bar, 650–1300 K, and 1.4–2 ms reaction times.

Industrial applications of shock waves

open access: yes, 2008
Shock waves have been traditionally considered to be an integral part of flow field features in the area of high-speed aerodynamics. Physically the propagation of shock waves in any media is invariably associated with instantaneous increase in pressure ...

An upgrade of the shock tube standard for time-varying pressures with the converging element

open access: yes, 2023
V magistrski nalogi je predstavljena metoda ojačitve udarnih valov v brezmembranski udarni cevi, ki je bila razvita za dinamično umerjanje merilnikov tlaka.

Vibrational effects on the dynamic pressure measurement standard based on shock tube

open access: yes, 2021

Design And Development Of Diaphragmless Hypersonic Shock Tunnel

open access: yes, 2009
The growing requirements to achieve hypersonic flights, as in the case of reentry vehicles, pose a serious challenge to the designers. This demands an understanding of the features of hypersonic flow and its effect on hypersonic vehicles.
