Diaphysial nutrient foramina in human phalanges

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1980
1770 phalanges of the hand and 660 phalanges of the foot, of unknown sex, were studied to determine the number, position and direction of the nutrient foramina. It was found that, in general, these bones had one nutrient foramen in the middle third of the shaft. The proximal phalanges of the fingers often showed double foramina.

It is about a retrospective and prospective study on thirty two cases of the femur diaphysis malunion at the national lamordé hospital from 2003 march at December 2008. As farrnas the masculine sex is concerned, it represents 87.5% of the cases. The majority of the patients are less than forty years old (81.2%).
