Study of Oil Generation Mechanisms in the Diapir Folds Area (Exaggerated Diapirism Alignment)

open access: yesApplied Sciences
(1) Background: This research examines the study of crude oil generation mechanisms in the Diapir Fold Area (exaggerated diapirism alignment) through two representative cases. The geology of the respective area, along with the tectonics and the formation conditions of the hydrocarbons, is presented.

Venus diapirs: Thermal or compositional?

open access: yesGeological Society of America Bulletin, 2003
The Venus surface exhibits quasi-circular structures with a bimodal size distribution; there are at least 17 large (∼1300–2600-km diameter) crustal plateaus and volcanic rises, which form major geomorphic features, and ∼515 smaller (200-km median diameter) coronae.

Tectonic connections to interior processes on Venus [PDF]

open access: yes
The ultimate goal of geophysical/geological exploration of Venus is to relate the present tectonic (and volcanic) state of the lithosphere to interior processes, particularly mantle convection, operating both now and in the past. The Magellan mission has
