The geology of the Aracruz pluton (Espírito Santo, Brazil), a Cambrian post-orogenic intrusion in the aftermath of Gondwana amalgamation

open access: yesJournal of Maps
We present the first geological map of the Aracruz pluton (Espírito Santo, Brazil), which belongs to the late Cambrian post-orogenic suite that intruded the Nova Venécia metapelites and Ediacaran syn-orogenic S-type granites of the Araçuaí belt.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE MUD ORGANIC MATTER CONTENT AND THE MAXIMUM HEIGHT OF DIAPIRIC DOMES USING ANALOG MODELS

open access: yesCT&F Ciencia, Tecnología & Futuro
Mud diapirs are sedimentary structures produced by mud intrusion through a host rock. In this study, analog models of mud diapirism showed that gas generated from decomposition of organic matter contained in diapiric mud plays a fundamental role in the ...

The impact of diapirism on geothermal reservoir properties of the Estopanyà and Boix synclines (South-Central Pyrenees)

open access: yesGeothermal Energy
This study investigates petrological and thermophysical properties of rocks from the Estopanyà and Boix synclines (salt basins) to evaluate their potential as analogues for geothermal reservoir.
