Epidemiology and etiology of severe infantile diarrhea
The Journal of Pediatrics, 1968In a prospective study, Shigella and Salmonella were recovered from only 3 per cent of infants hospitalized with severe diarrhea, compared to 12 per cent of infants with mild diarrhea and 21 per cent of older children with severe diarrhea.
