This study exploited the substitution doping of Mn and F in NiCo2O4 to activate and stabilize lattice oxygen, achieving a stable synergistic effect between AEM and LOM to enhance the intrinsic activity of the catalyst. The outstanding bifunctional properties enable its application as an anode catalyst in zinc–air batteries.

Abstract Microplastic input into the ocean represents an increasing threat to marine biota and may endanger the functioning of marine ecosystems, especially in semi‐enclosed basins, such as the Mediterranean Sea. The size spectrum of microplastics overlaps with that of nano‐microplankton (2–200 μm), thus potentially misleading suspension‐feeding ...

Assessing the intensity of Late Quaternary humid phases in the Nefud Desert, northern Arabia
ABSTRACT The climate history of the major dryland zones of the world, such as the Saharo–Arabian Desert belt, plays a key role in the dispersal of early humans through these intermittently inhospitable regions. Here, we assess the relative intensity of Late Quaternary humid phases in northern Arabia through lithological, geochemical, palaeoecological ...

Abstract Plankton play a key role in marine food webs by producing and transferring organic matter and energy to higher trophic levels. To define the trophic structure and interactions within the planktonic communities in the Gulf of Naples, we determined carbon and nitrogen stable isotope ratios in particulate organic matter (POM, <20 μm ...

ABSTRACT The Mediterranean is particularly sensitive to rapid climate changes (RCCs) during the Holocene. An increasing number of natural climate archives revealed that socio‐economic developments were influenced by such RCCs since the Palaeolithic. However, multi‐millennial and high‐resolution archives are still rare and often located in mountainous ...

Recent Progress in Diatom Research in the Yangtze River Basin
Diatoms have been widely used for aquatic environment assessment. However, the progress of diatom research is uneven in different regions of the world. This study gathered both Chinese and English articles on diatom research in the Yangtze River Basin in

Abstract Imaging Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) fluorometry allows spatially resolved measurements of Photosystem II (PSII) fluorescence kinetics through time without disturbing study organisms or their environments. In particular, the use of photosynthesis–irradiance curves (P–I curves) provides detailed information on PSII quantum efficiency ...
