1,2-Diazocines,1,3-Diazocines,Triazocines,and Tetrazocines
ChemInform, 1990Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the eight-membered heterocycles containing (a) two nitrogens, (b) three nitrogens, and (c) four nitrogens. In this chapter, all the compounds are classified according to the actual relationship of the eight-membered ring nitrogens to each other, regardless of formal nomenclature.

Synthesis of 1,5-diazocin-2-ones
Russian Chemical Bulletin, 2021This review is focused on the synthetic approaches to the eight-membered nitrogen heterocycles, 1,5-diazocin-2-ones, exhibiting promising biological activities. Nomenclature of these compounds is considered and the examples of the natural and pharmacologically important compounds of the 1,5-diazocin-2-one family are given.

Diazocines on Molecular Platforms
European Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014AbstractNew diazocines as photochromic switches for the surface functionalization via the “platform approach” were synthesized and characterized. Symmetric diazocines as well as asymmetric molecules based on an indane scaffold were obtained and their photochromic properties were investigated.

ChemInform Abstract: 1,5‐Diazocine.

Solvent-Free Synthesis of Diazocine
Synthesis, 2017A convenient two-step synthesis of diazocine starting from 2-nitrotoluene is described. The first step, the oxidative dimerization of 2-nitrotoluene, is improved to 95% yield. The second step, the reductive azo cyclization, is performed as a solvent-free reaction with lead powder in a ball mill (51% yield).

Cross-Coupling Strategy for the Synthesis of Diazocines
Organic Letters, 2020Ethylene bridged azobenzenes are novel, promising molecular switches that are thermodynamically more stable in the (Z) than in the (E) configuration, contrary to the linear azobenzene. However, their previous synthetic routes were often not general, and yields were poorly reproducible, and sometimes very low.
