Eslicarbazepine-induced hyponatremia: A retrospective single-center real clinical practice study. [PDF]

open access: yesEpilepsia Open
Abstract Hyponatremia is a typical side effect of antiseizure drugs from the dibenzazepine family. The study investigated the prevalence of hyponatremia in patients with epilepsy who were treated with eslicarbazepine. We aimed to determine the prevalence of hyponatremia, reveal the factors leading to the discontinuation of treatment, and identify ...

Iron‐responsive element of Divalent metal transporter 1 (Dmt1) controls Notch‐mediated cell fates

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 290, Issue 24, Page 5811-5834, December 2023., 2023
Divalent metal transporter 1 (Dmt1)‐deficient cells exhibit perturbations in vesicle function and excessive ROS leading to a loss of Notch activity. The effect varies depending on the isoforms of Dmt1. Inhibition of Dmt1 lacking an iron‐responsive element (Dmt1‐ire) blocks Notch activity, leading to a Notch‐dependent accelerated differentiation in ...

An Iminostilbene Functionalized Benzimidazoline for Enhanced n‐Type Solution Doping of Semiconducting Polymers for Organic Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 10, Issue 19, July 6, 2023., 2023
The development of organic thermoelectric generators requires better performing molecular n‐type dopants. The synthesis of a novel benzimidazoline derivative functionalized with a rigid and planarized iminostilbene substituent is reported here. Such chemical modification emerges as a feasible strategy to enhance the electrical conductivity and the ...

Adsorption of Carbamazepine in All‐Silica Zeolites Studied with Density Functional Theory Calculations**

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 24, Issue 9, May 2, 2023., 2023
The interaction of carbamazepine with eleven all‐silica zeolites is studied using dispersion‐corrected density functional theory calculations. The calculations not only allow the prediction of highly promising adsorbents for carbamazepine removal, but also provide insights into the role of host‐guest and guest‐guest interactions.
