Synthesis of Thiadiazoles and 1,2,4-Triazoles Derived from Cyclopropane Dicarboxylic Acid

open access: yesMolecules, 2005
New heterocyclic derivatives of cyclopropane dicarboxylic acid comprising thiadiazole and 1,2,4-triazole moieties are reported. Reaction of 1,1-cyclopropane dicarboxylic acid (1) with thiosemicarbazide and phosphorous oxychloride resulted in 1,1-bis (2 ...

Use of dicarboxylic acids in type 2 diabetes [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 2013
Even‐number, medium‐chain dicarboxylic acids (DAs), naturally occurring in higher plants, are a promising alternative energy substrate. Unlike the homologous fatty acids, DAs are soluble in water as salts. They are β‐oxidized, providing acetyl‐CoA and succinyl‐CoA, the latter being an intermediate of the tricarboxylic acid cycle.

Novel and Efficient Procedure for the Preparation of Two Pyridine Dicarboxylic Acid Derivatives [PDF]

open access: yesE-Journal of Chemistry, 2011
New strategies for the synthesis of two pyridine dicarboxylic acid derivatives namely; 4-(2-(2,6-dicarboxypyridin-4-yl)vinyl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and 2,6-bis(2-(2,6–dicarboxy-pyridin-4-yl)vinyl)pyridine have been described.

The biochemistry and physiology of long-chain dicarboxylic acid metabolism. [PDF]

open access: yesBiochem J, 2023
Mitochondrial β-oxidation is the most prominent pathway for fatty acid oxidation but alternative oxidative metabolism exists. Fatty acid ω-oxidation is one of these pathways and forms dicarboxylic acids as products.

Improving Organic Acid Secretion of Aspergillus niger by Overexpression C4-Dicarboxylic Acid Transporters

open access: yesFermentation
C4-dicarboxylic acids are essential organic compounds characterized by a four-carbon structure and two carboxyl groups. Their export from cells is mediated by specialized transporter proteins known as C4-dicarboxylic acid transporters (DCTs).

Effects of Acid Dissociation and Ionic Solutions on the Aggregation of 2-Pyrone-4,6-dicarboxylic Acid. [PDF]

open access: yesACS Omega
The conversion of lignin can produce biomass-derived aromatic compounds such as 2-pyrone-4,6-dicarboxylic acid (PDC), which is a potential sustainable precursor of bioplastics.

Improvement of dicarboxylic acid production with Methylorubrum extorquens by reduction of product reuptake. [PDF]

open access: yesAppl Microbiol Biotechnol, 2022
: The methylotrophic bacterium Methylorubrum extorquens AM1 has the potential to become a platform organism for methanol-driven biotechnology. Its ethylmalonyl-CoA pathway (EMCP) is essential during growth on C1 compounds and harbors several CoA ...

13C dicarboxylic acid signatures indicate temporal shifts in catchment sediment sources in response to extreme winter rainfall. [PDF]

open access: yesEnviron Chem Lett
Rainfall and land-use interactions drive temporal shifts in suspended sediment sources, yet the magnitude of such changes remains poorly understood due to the lack of land-use specific source tracers.
