Characterization of a naturally occurring truncated Dicer
Molecular Biology Reports, 2015Dicer is central to small RNA silencing pathways, thus playing an important role in physiological and pathological states. Recently, a number of mutations in dicer gene have been identified in diverse types of cancer, implicating Dicer in oncogenic cooperation. Here we report on the properties of a rare splice variant of the human dicer gene, occurring

Progress of studies on Dicer structure and function
Hereditas (Beijing), 2009Dicer is responsible for producing small interfering RNA and microRNA as an essential component of RNA interference. The character of these small RNAs is determined by the structure of Dicer protein, which contains RNA HELICs, PAZ, RNaseand dsRNA binding domain. Different organisms have different numbers of Dicers with distinct but redundant functions.

Targeting miRNAs via interrupting the miRNA biogenesis pathway has become an important alternative to directly targeting mature miRNAs. In theory, every single one of the components along the miRNA biogenesis could be manipulated to disrupt the pathway.

AbstractThe ancient theoretical debate on language and its purposes has long concerned scholarship, but only in recent years a growing attention has been directed to ancient concepts and instances of nonsense in both communication and artistic-literary expression, as the recent monograph by Stephen Kidd attests. This paper engages in an analysis of the
