Characterising Spectral Sensitivity and the Role of Sunlight Intensity in Japanese Beetle (Popillia japonica) Surveillance and Monitoring (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae)

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, Volume 150, Issue 1, Page 46-55, February 2026.
ABSTRACT The Japanese beetle (JB) Popillia japonica (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) has been a significant invasive pest for over a century in North America. Several studies have reported that plants under direct sunlight are preferred and trap colour affects the number of beetles captured, indicating that visual stimuli influence JB behaviour. Despite this,

Lattice Points in Orthotopes and a Huge Polynomial Tutte Invariant of Weighted Gain Graphs

open access: yes, 2015
A gain graph is a graph whose edges are orientably labelled from a group. A weighted gain graph is a gain graph with vertex weights from an abelian semigroup, where the gain group is lattice ordered and acts on the weight semigroup.

Reduced Switching Threshold and Photo‐Modulated Dynamics in Self‐Organized Hybrid Ag/pV3D3 Nanoparticle Networks: Toward Photoresponsivity in Neural‐Like Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 2, 20 January 2026.
Self‐organized silver nanoparticle networks coated with poly(1,3,5‐trivinyl‐1,3,5‐trimethyl‐cyclosiloxane) via initiated chemical vapor deposition exhibit a markedly reduced switching threshold (0.5 V vs 3 V). Time‐series analysis reveals that visible‐light illumination modulates the resistive switching activity, with blue light showing pronounced ...

Spatially Resolved Mapping of Voltage‐Gated Proton Channel Activity Reveals Delayed Proton Transport in Local Microenvironments

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 2, 9 January 2026.
A revolutionary imaging platform integrating quantitative single‐molecule photobleaching with ratiometric fluorescence probes enables high‐throughput (≈2300 individually resolvable channels) mapping of individual proton channels in a large field (≈3000 µm2), overcoming the spatial and temporal limitations of conventional electrophysiology.

High energy electromagnetic cascades in extragalactic space: physics and features

open access: yes, 2016
Using the analytic modeling of the electromagnetic cascades compared with more precise numerical simulations we describe the physical properties of electromagnetic cascades developing in the universe on CMB and EBL background radiations.

Induced Proprioceptor and Low‐Threshold Mechanoreceptor Neurons Derived from Human Pluripotent Stem Cells Exhibit Distinct Functional Mechanosensory Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 6, 30 January 2026.
This study describes derivation of two distinct mechanosensory subpopulations from human pluripotent stem cells using a transcription factor mediated approach. Of significance, functional interrogation of induced mechanosensory subtypes reveal their unique responses to mechanical stimulation in the absence of end‐organs.

Partition function of the Potts model on self-similar lattices as a dynamical system and multiple transitions

open access: yes, 2010
We present an analytic study of the Potts model partition function on two different types of self-similar lattices of triangular shape with non integer Hausdorff dimension.

Implications of Pareto Efficiency for Two-Agent (Household) Choice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We study when two-member household choice behavior is compatible with Pareto optimality. We ask when an external observer of household choices, who does not know the individuals' preferences, can rationalize the choices as being Pareto-optimal.

Complete Acyclic Colorings

open access: yes, 2019
We study two parameters that arise from the dichromatic number and the vertex-arboricity in the same way that the achromatic number comes from the chromatic number.
