Attenuation and quantitation of virulence gene expression in quorum-quenched Dickeya chrysanthemi
Archives of Microbiology, 2016N-Acyl-homoserine lactones (AHLs)-dependent quorum sensing (QS) system(s) is recruited by the soft rot bacterium Dickeya chrysanthemi for coordinating its social activities such as secretion of plant cell wall-degrading enzymes, while the main signal molecule and quantity dependence of virulence to QS in this bacterium have not been clarified.

Dickeya dadantii 3937 (ex Erwinia chrysanthemi), a member of the Enterobacteriaceae, causes soft rot in many economically important crops. A successful pathogen has to reach the interior of the plant in order to cause disease. To study the role of motility and chemotaxis in the pathogenicity of D. dadantii 3937, genes involved in the

CONTROLLING OF Pseudomonas cichorii AND Dickeya dadantii (Erwinia chrysanthemi) BY ELECTROSPUN NANOFIBERS OF NYLON-6/CHITOSAN BLENDS [PDF]
This is the first report to use electrospun nanofibers which could be of considerable interest to the development of new antibacterial compounds against certain species of bacteria affect plants in different ways as bacterial leaf spot (bacterial midrib rot), Pseudomonas cichorii and bacterial blight Dickeya dadantii (Erwinia chrysanthemi). Electrospun

The taxonomic assignment of Japanese potato blackleg isolates of Dickeya spp. has not been confirmed after the changes in their former name, Erwinia chrysanthemi. Therefore, we investigated and identified 23 representative isolates of Dickeya spp. from symptomatic stems of potatoes in Japan, with biochemical tests and phylogenetic sequence analysis ...

Quorum sensing (QS) is a bacterial cell-to-cell communication process that has an important role in bacterial pathogenicity. The aiiA is an autoinducer inactivation gene coding acyl hemoserine lactone (AHL) lactonase proteins which disrupt QS. In this study, two aiiA genes from different sources were expressed into Dickeya chrysanthemi pv. chrysanthemi

The effect of phenolic acids (gallic and tannic acids) on growth of Pectobacterium chrysanhemi, and its protease and pectate lyase activities was tested. The results obtained showed a significant inhibitingeffect of the tannic and gallic acids on the growth of this strain. The growth rate decreases in the presence of 400 g/ml for gallic acid and 100 ìg/
