Heterobothrium okamotoi, a monogenean gill parasite, shows high host specificity for tiger puffer, Takifugu rubripes. In the present study, in vivo and in vitro experimental infections were conducted using various fish species, including T. rubripes, to understand the mechanisms of specificity. In in vivo experiments, T.

Abstract Cyclocotyloides bergstadi n. sp. is described from the gills of grenadier, Coryphaenoides brevibarbis (Macrouridae), from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, North Atlantic Ocean. The new species differs from Cyclocotyloides pinguis by being significantly smaller and by lacking a subterminal protuberance on the anteromedial sclerite of the clamp.

Diclidophora embiotocae sp. n. is described from adult specimens obtained from the gills of three species of embiotocid fishes from the central coast of Oregon. It differs from all other members of the genus in hosts, geographic location, and in possessing pre- and para-ovarian, as well as post-ovarian testes.

2023Morphological peculiarities of the genus Polyipnicola Mamaev et Paruchin, 1975, are considered with reference to systematics, a new diagnosis is given. Diclidophora sprostonae Martin, 1973 and Myctophiphilus arabicus Mama e v, 1976, are transferred to this genus. Myctophiphilus Mamaev, 1976 is sunk in synonymy of Polyipnicola M a maev et Paruchin, 1975.

Diclidophora nezumiae Munroe, Campbell, and Zwerner, 1981 is redescribed from the common grenadier, Nezumia bairdi (Macrouridae), in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. A prostatic vesicle is present in the terminal male genitalia. A complete lamellate extension attached to peripheral sclerite c1, is present in the clamp anterior jaw of Diclidophora nezumiae ...
