Shear Wave Elastography for Characterization of Breast Lesions in Clinical Routine

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, EarlyView.
Objectives Breast cancer remains a major global health challenge, and conventional B‐mode ultrasound frequently encounters limitations in reliably distinguishing benign from malignant lesions, particularly within intermediate Breast Imaging‐Reporting and Data System (BI‐RADS) categories.

Weight‐bearing computed tomography reveals greater anterior tibial translation and femorotibial rotation than magnetic resonance imaging in chronic anterior cruciate ligament deficiency: A prospective observational study

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To compare anterior tibial translation and femorotibial rotation measurements obtained from conventional supine, non‐weight‐bearing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and weight‐bearing computed tomography (WBCT) in patients with chronic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears. Methods WBCT of the knee acquired in full extension and at 30°

Can Viewing Modality Affect Frontal Mandibular Bone Height Measurement? A Comparison Between 3D Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine Viewer and Printed Portable Document Format Cone Beam Computer Tomography Reports

open access: yesDentistry Journal
Objectives: Buccal cortical bone dimensions are crucial in dental radiology, as they impact orthodontic treatment outcomes. Changes in alveolar bone dimensions can result in malocclusion and require interdisciplinary approaches for correction.

The Association of Upper Airway Anatomy and Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulation Response in OSA

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
CT‐derived measurements of tongue and craniofacial anatomy were evaluated in adults undergoing hypoglossal nerve stimulation for obstructive sleep apnea. Relative tongue volume was not significantly associated with treatment response. Exploratory analyses suggest that other anatomic features such as hyoid positions or transverse maxillary dimensions ...

Integrating Augmented Reality Into Otologic Cadaveric Surgical Training

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
This pilot study developed and implemented a specimen‐specific augmented reality (AR) workflow for cadaveric temporal bone dissection, using CT‐derived 3D models registered to each specimen and viewed intermittently through a Microsoft HoloLens 2 headset.

PyDicer: An open-source python library for conversion and analysis of radiotherapy DICOM data

open access: yesSoftwareX
The organisation, conversion, cleaning and processing of DICOM data is an ongoing challenge across medical image analysis research projects. PyDicer (PYthon Dicom Image ConvertER) was created as a generalisable tool for use across a variety of ...

Finite Element Analysis of Upper Airway in Ansa Cervicalis Stimulation for Obstructive Sleep Apnea

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
We developed a subject‐specific FE model to investigate how ACS stabilizes the upper airway in OSA. Simulations demonstrate that caudal traction applied through the hyolaryngeal complex produces coordinated multilevel airway stabilization, with pronounced effects at the retropalatal and retro‐epiglottic regions under physiologic loading.
