An unusual historic dicynodont specimen (Therapsida: Dicynodontia) from the Dinodontosaurus Assemblage Zone of the Santa Maria Formation (Middle Triassic) of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

PalZ, 2020
An unusual dicynodont specimen from the historical collection of von Huene and Stahlecker (1928/1929) is described from the Middle Triassic Dinodontosaurus Assemblage Zone of the Santa Maria Formation of Chiniqua, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Hitherto only two dicynodont species, the stahleckeriid Stahleckeria potens and the more basal kannemeyeriiform ...

Barysoma lenzii (Synapsida: Dicynodontia) from the Middle Triassic of Brazil, a synonym of Stahleckeria potens

Journal of Paleontology, 1993
Huene (1935) first reported dicynodonts from the Triassic Santa Maria Formation of southern Brazil. Most common are specimens of Dinodontosaurus from localities near Chiniquà (Chiniquà local fauna) and near Candelaria (Candelaria local fauna) in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

New species of Lystrosaurus (Lystrosauridae, Dicynodontia) from South Africa, implications for our knowledge of the phylogenetic relationship of the genus and the post Permo-Triassic biotic crisis recovery

2018
The genus Lystrosaurus belongs to Dicynodontia, a large group of herbivorous therapsids, which dominate the terrestrial ecosystems from the middle Permian to the Late Triassic. The end-Permian biotic crisis had a devastating impact on the dicynodont biodiversity.
