This study examines how pore shape and manufacturing‐induced deviations affect the mechanical properties of 3D‐printed lattice materials with constant porosity. Combining µ‐CT analysis, FEM, and compression testing, the authors show that structural imperfections reduce stiffness and strength, while bulk material inhomogeneities probably enhance ...

Lattice Structure for Improving Cooling Uniformity in HPDC Mould Corners
Conformal cooling channels have demonstrated significant advantages for cast parts and 3D-printed moulds in the high-pressure die casting (HPDC) process. However, the complex geometry of moulds, characterised by small intrusions, sharp corners, and fins,

Implementation of Drug‐Induced Rhabdomyolysis and Acute Kidney Injury in Microphysiological System
A modular Muscle–Kidney proximal tubule‐on‐a‐chip integrates 3D skeletal muscle and renal proximal tubule tissues to model drug‐induced rhabdomyolysis and acute kidney injury. The coculture system enables dynamic tissue interaction, functional contraction monitoring, and quantification of nephrotoxicity, revealing drug side effect‐induced metabolic ...

Bio‐based and (semi‐)synthetic zwitterion‐modified novel materials and fully synthetic next‐generation alternatives show the importance of material design for different biomedical applications. The zwitterionic character affects the physiochemical behavior of the material and deepens the understanding of chemical interaction mechanisms within the ...

Sticking of Die-Castings to Die
The sticking of castings to die has a very close relation wan neat. Therefore casting temperature is the most important factor with regard to sticking. As the casting temperature becomes higher, the sticking grows stronger. However, temperature of die and casting pressure do not substantially influence the sticking.

Casting integrity of high-pressure die-castings
This thesis was submitted for the award of Doctor of Philosophy and was awarded by Brunel University London High-pressure die casting (HPDC) is widely used in the manufacture of automobiles and aeroplanes; however, the mechanical properties of die-castings are notoriously inconsistent.
