An indicator for fitting castings to a die
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1992This article describes a procedure for making an indicator to be used in fitting a casting to a die. It also describes how to use the indicator in the laboratory. The materials for making the indicator are inexpensive, present no health hazard, and are readily available at any arts and crafts store.

Abstract The die-casting process, according to the author, is best adapted to alloys of comparative low fusing points, such as those of zinc, tin, lead and aluminum. While it is stated that no general rules can be laid down governing the design and application of die castings, the paper nevertheless outlines the general properties of the

AbstractNearly two-thirds of the aluminum castings made in North America are produced using high-pressure die casting techniques. This article compares and contrasts traditional high-pressure die casting with an improved version that uses a vacuum to pull air out of the die in order to reduce porosity in as-cast parts. It begins by describing a typical

Computer Modelling in Die Casting Applications
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1992Abstract In the context of die casting, computer modelling facilitates the design and manufacturing of parts that often have very complex configurations. The technology offers to the user more wholesome and rapid solutions to die casting problems. When properly applied, it can help to reduce production costs through design and process optimization ...

???The Die Is Cast???: Telling Patients They Are Going to Die
Journal of Burn Care & Rehabilitation, 1992The decision not to resuscitate a patient with burns is an issue of concern, with advocates both for and against. Most patients have not had previous experience with major burn injuries. It is therefore unreasonable to expect them or their families to act from a position of knowledge.

The heightened rhetoric with which the previous chapter concluded is just one manifestation of a concern running right through Patten’s governorship, the desire for an honourable withdrawal. The goal of withdrawal with honour was also demonstrated by a preoccupation with the actual handover arrangements for 1 July 1997.

Detection of cast residue on high pressure die casting die surface
2006This thesis aims to develop a temperature feedback system that could provide the basis for automated detection of anomalies on the die surface (e.g., soldering) or for control systems that could improve product quality. A key factor in the provision of temperature feedback was the application of temperature probes positioned within the casting die ...
