Ultra‐Fast Non‐Volatile Resistive Switching Devices with Over 512 Distinct and Stable Levels for Memory and Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A materials and device design concept that comprises a self‐assembled ultra‐thin epitaxial ion‐transporting layer, an amorphous oxide overcoat oxygen‐blocking layer, and a partial filament formed during an electroforming step is proposed for low‐current multilevel resistive switching devices.

Electrostriction coefficient of ferroelectric materials from ab initio computation

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
Electrostriction is an important material property that characterizes how strain changes with the development of polarization inside a material. We show that ab initio techniques developed in recent years can be exploited to compute and understand ...

Inertial polarization of dielectrics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
It was proved that accelerated motion of a linear dielectric causes its polarization. Accelerated translational motion of a dielectric's plate leads to the positive charge of the surface facing the direction of motion. Metal plates of a capacitor were used to register polarized charges on a dielectric's surface.

Ionic Liquid‐Based Reversible Metal Electrodeposition for Adaptive Radiative Thermoregulation Under Extreme Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A wideband tunable electrochromic device with dynamic thermal emissivity control is demonstrated. The system enables adaptive heat regulation via electrochemically modulated silver deposition, achieving efficient cooling and heating states. The flexible design ensures mechanical robustness under bending conditions, making it promising for portable and ...

Behavior of ZnO-coated alumina dielectric barrier discharge in atmospheric pressure air [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
A complete investigation of the discharge behavior of dielectric barrier discharge device using ZnO-coated dielectric layer in atmospheric pressure is made. Highly conductive ZnO film was deposited on the dielectric surface. Discharge characteristic of the dielectric barrier discharge are examined in different aspects.

Effects of post-anneal conditions on the dielectric properties of CaCu3Ti4O12 thin films prepared on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates

open access: yes, 2003
High-dielectric-constant CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) thin films were prepared on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si(100) substrates by pulsed-laser deposition. The 480 nm thick polycrystalline films have preferred orientation and show obvious crystallization on the surface.

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.
