The Role of the Accumulated Surface Charge on Nanoparticles in Improving the Breakdown Strength of Liquid and Solid Insulation

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
In this paper, the role of the accumulated surface charge on the surfaces of nanoparticles on breakdown strength for liquid and solid dielectrics is presented. The breakdown strengths of a nanofilled liquid dielectric and a solid dielectric are evaluated.

On dielectric membranes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2009
By placing a collection of membranes in 11 dimensional background supergravity six form field and considering the non-linear action of multiple membranes we obtain the potential for transverse scalar fields of membranes and study some possible vacuum configurations.

Sepiolite-Based Nanogenerator Driven by Water Evaporation

open access: yesNanomaterials
This work introduces a new type of water evaporation-driven nanogenerator (S-WEG) utilizing the natural mineral sepiolite, which capitalizes on its hierarchical nanoporous architecture and intrinsic hydrophilicity to harvest energy from ambient humidity ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Effect of Temperature on Creeping Flashover Voltage of Nanofilled Oil-Pressboard Insulation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Creeping flashover (surface discharge) at oil-pressboard interface is considered a serious failure of the insulation system in power transformers. In this paper, creeping flashover voltage at oil-pressboard interface using the concept of nanofluids is ...

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Density functional investigations on electronic structures, magnetic ordering and ferroelectric phase transition in multiferroic Bi2NiMnO6

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2012
Using the full-potential linearised augmented-plane wave (FP-LAPW) method based on density functional theory (DFT), we have investigated the electronic structures, the magnetic behavior, and the ferroelectric origin of multiferroic Bi2NiMnO6.

Clinical Outcomes of SEEG‐Guided Radiofrequency Thermocoagulation in Children With Focal Drug‐Resistant Epilepsy: A Multicenter Real‐World Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Stereoelectroencephalography‐guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation (SEEG‐RFTC) has emerged as a safe and effective minimally invasive treatment for children with drug‐resistant focal epilepsy. Although evidence from real‐world studies remains limited, numerous pediatric cases have demonstrated promising outcomes. This retrospective
