Dielectric Permittivity and Breakdown Strength of Molybdenum Trioxide Films

Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1975
Dielectric behaviour of molybdenum trioxide films as a function of frequency (up to 10 MHz), thickness (from nearly 350 to 5000A) and temperature (room temperature to nearly 200°C) is reported. The films were prepared by vacuum evaporation technique and their thickness was measured by multiple beam interferometry.

Dielectric breakdown strength measurements with silicone-based single-layer dielectric elastomer transducers

Smart materials and structures (Print), 2019
Dielectric elastomer transducers (DETs) consist of an elastic dielectric film sandwiched between compliant electrodes. Applying an electric voltage leads to an electrostatic pressure between the electrodes which causes a deformation of the DET due to the

Enhancement of Dielectric Breakdown Strengths in Polymer Film Capacitors

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1992
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Breakdown voltages of wound, polymer film/metal foil capacitors have been dramatically increased by briefly exposing them (after they had been spirally wound) to a low pressure, low temperature gas plasma. Exposure of wound, polycarbonate-based capacitors to a 96%CF4/4%O2</sub ...

Effect of temperature on the electric breakdown strength of dielectric elastomer

SPIE Proceedings, 2014
DE (dielectric elastomer) is one of the most promising artificial muscle materials for its large strain over 100% under driving voltage. However, to date, dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) are prone to failure due to the temperature-dependent electric breakdown. Previously studies had shown that the electrical breakdown strength was mainly related

Remarkable Dielectric Breakdown Strength of Printable Polyelectrolyte Photopolymer Complexes

ACS Macro Letters
Polymer-based dielectrics are struggling to keep pace with the increasing demands of modern electronics. This lag in dielectric performance has spurred significant interest in the production of advanced dielectrics via novel chemistries and processing techniques.

Frequency dependence of the electric strength of dielectrics in electrical breakdown

Glass and Ceramics, 2006
It was shown that the dependence of the electric strength of solid dielectrics on the frequency is determined by the corresponding dependence of the dielectric constant and it decreases sharply in the region of dispersion frequencies in elastic oscillations and on relaxation oscillators (in the condition ω0 = 1/τ) in relaxation oscillations.
