Dielectric constants of homogeneous mixture

Molecular Physics, 1965
A new simple formula for the dielectric constants of homogeneous mixtures is derived. This formula contains expression (e1/3-1) instead of the usual quantity (e-1)/(e+2) (Clausius-Mosotti, Debye). Similarly, function (n 2/3-1) replaces (n 2-1)/(n 2+2) in the Lorentz-Lorenz formula.

The Čerenkov Effect and the Dielectric Constant

Physical Review, 1953
A quantum-mechanical theory of the \ifmmode \check{C}\else \v{C}\fi{}erenkov radiation is developed wherein the refractive medium is treated not as a continuum but as an aggregation of atoms. The atoms and the electromagnetic field are considered as forming a single system which interacts with an incident charged particle.

Field Dependence of the Dielectric Constant

Proceedings of the Physical Society. Section A, 1951
A very general calculation has been made by Frohlich giving the dielectric constant of a material in terms of the spontaneous fluctuations of the electric moment of the material which would occur in a field-free region. This calculation is now extended one step further so as to include the first term in the field dependence of the dielectric constant ...
