Degradation patterns of silicone-based dielectric elastomers in electrical fields
Silicone elastomers have been heavily investigated as candidates for the flexible insulator material in dielectric elastomer transducers and are as such almost ideal candidates because of their inherent softness and compliance.

By designing a P/N‐ and π–π interacting biphenyl‐containing diol as hard segments but side groups, a strong, tough, fire‐extinguishing and self‐healing elastomer is developed, demonstrating a break strain of ∼2500%, a toughness of 379 MJ/m3 and a tensile strength of 46 MPa, as well as a healing efficiency of 95% (tensile strength) and 99% (break strain)

Actuation capability of a dielectric elastomer balloon actuator
Dielectric elastomers show great promise for soft actuators. As the allowable deformation range of dielectric elastomers is strictly limited by the material failures, the actuation ability of a dielectric elastomer actuator is accordingly bounded ...

A double‐sided mechanical interlocking strategy is developed to create robust electrical contact between polymer electrode and metal interconnect. The fibrous structure enables formation of thread–hole adhesion, which only breaks under bulk failure and achieves a record high interfacial energy exceeding 730 J·m−2. This adhesion secures the integrity of
