X‐Functionality–Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a water‐based synthesis of 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 perovskite microcrystals with prominent photocatalytic (PC) activity for H2 production. The synergy between organic functionalization and HI‐derived iodide scavenges holes suppress octahedral distortion, and favor electron accumulation, enabling a PC H2 evolution ∼20 µmol·g−1 and long‐term stability ...

On the measurement of dielectric losses and surface conductivity of dielectrics in parallel plane test capacitors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1964
Thin slabs of dielectric materials are often tested for their dielectric properties in plane parallel plate capacitors. When surface conductivity is present, as for instance in freshly split mica, losses not connected with the bulk of the material arise.

Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Measurement System for Lossy Capacitive Sensors: Application to Edible Oils Quality Assessment

open access: yesSensors, 2019
This paper aimed to develop a portable, low-cost, and easy-to-use measurement system for oil quality degradation assessment. The main two chemical parameters affected by frying are the total polar compounds (TPC) and free fatty acids.

Lattice dynamics and phonon characteristics of complex perovskite microwave ceramics

open access: yesIET Nanodielectrics, 2019
Complex perovskite microwave dielectric ceramics (MWDCs) of [inline-formula]-type (A = Ba, Sr,…; B′ = Mg, Zn,…; B″ = Nb, Ta), which exhibit excellent dielectric properties, have currently been widely used in microwave and millimetre wave devices ...

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Extension to the effective-index method to include the calculation of losses in dielectric waveguides [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
A simple extension to the effective-index method (EIM) for the solution of lossy dielectric waveguides, whereby the attenuation constant can be calculated, is presented.

Research of dielectric losses using FDS and PDC methods. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Each dielectric situated in electromagnetic field polarizes. When through it flows electric current, which dissipates a certain amount of electric power. This power turns into thermal energy.

Dielectric properties of alumina-filled poly(ethylene-co-butyl acrylate) nanocomposites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The dielectric properties of poly (ethylene-co-butyl acrylate) with 13 wt% of butyl acrylate (EBA) filled with alumina nanoparticles (diameter < 50 nm) were studied as a function of particle coating and filler content (2, 6 and 12 wt%).
