Differential equations and dielectric permittivity

Annual Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena, 2002
An investigation was carried out to determine whether the concept of differential equations with time-dependent coefficients for the polarization is appropriate for the explanation of non-Debye dielectric response. It was found that for these kinds of differential equations no time-independent permittivity exists.

Dielectric permittivity of antiferroelectric liquid crystals

Ferroelectrics, 1993
Abstract The complex dielectric permittivity has been measured as a function of the frequency, the temperature and the biasing field for the antiferroelectric liquid crystal tolan C8 and C10. At the transition from the ferrielectric phase to the antiferroelectric one the remarkable maximum has been observed for low frequencies on the curves e(T).

Low-frequency dielectric permittivity of C60

Journal of Superconductivity, 1995
Complex dielectric response measurements have been made on a C60/C70 mixture pellet. The frequency and temperature ranges cover from 20 Hz to 1 MHz and from 30 to 300 K. Results show that the real part of the dielectric constant is 5 with a weak thermally activated polarization contribution.

Dielectric Permittivity Measurements at Centimeter Wavelengths

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1969
Improved apparatus for dielectric permittivity measurements at centimeter wavelengths is described. A method of data reduction which minimizes the effect of systematic errors, helps to average out random errors, and is free from significant mathematical approximations is presented.

Dielectric waveguide with non-linear permittivity

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1991
The dispersion relation for TE polarized waves guided by a non-linear dielectric slab with intensity-dependent refractive index, surrounded on one side by linear media and on the other side by a metallic surface, is found. The dependence of the propagation constant from the energy flux is also investigated. Some examples are investigated in detail.

Macroscopical dielectric permittivities of nonhomogeneous media

physica status solidi (b), 1983
AbstractBased on concepts of the functional analysis and treating the fields E and D as elements of the real vector Hilbert space H, a method is exploited for the calculation of macroscopical permittivities εM of nonhomogeneous media, and bounds within which they acquire their values.
