Broadband Silicon‐On‐Glass Reflective Dielectric Metasurface for THz Beam Steering in 6G Wireless Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A CMOS‐compatible, all‐dielectric Silicon‐on‐Glass reflective metasurface enables low–loss terahertz wavefront control for future 6G wireless communication. Mie‐resonant silicon pillars provide full phase coverage near 500 GHz, achieving experimentally validated single‐, dual‐, and five‐beam steering with sub‐1.5° angular error and less than 3 dB ...

Self‐Assembled Lipids as Soft Dielectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled lipid bilayers serve as soft dielectric materials for ultrathin electronics. Using liquid‐metal parallel‐plate junctions, the capacitance and dielectric breakdown of dehydrated lipid films are characterized. Dielectric behavior is controlled by lipid molecular structure, cholesterol content, and assembly conditions, providing molecular ...

Synergistic A-site co-doping of (Na1/2Bi1/2)xBa1−xZn1/3Nb2/3O3 perovskites: doping mechanisms, microstructure and impedance studies

open access: yesJournal of Science: Advanced Materials and Devices
This study explores the novel synergistic co-doping of (Na1/2Bi1/2)2+ ions into the A-sites of Ba(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 (BZN) perovskites to optimise dielectric properties and reduce sintering temperatures. Polycrystalline (Na1/2Bi1/2)xBa1−xZn1/3Nb2/3O3 ceramics

Spatially Regulated Lithium Plating via Li2O‐Rich Interphase Enables Durable Fast‐Charging Hybrid Lithium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Li2O‐rich solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) is engineered on graphite through a propylene carbonate‐based electrolyte to spatially regulate Li plating. The homogeneous interphase lowers Li nucleation barriers, promotes conformal Li deposition around graphite particles, and suppresses dendritic accumulation, enabling durable hybrid Li‐ion/Li‐metal ...

Disentangling Bulk and Surface Contributions to Charge and Discharge Fading in High‐Voltage LiCoO2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐voltage operation of LiCoO2 accelerates capacity fading through bulk and surface degradation. By introducing a LiTaO3 coating to selectively suppress surface degradation, bulk and surface contributions to charge and discharge fading are decoupled.

Network Topology Governs Photocatalytic Water Splitting in Organic Two‐Dimensional Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Network topology in organic two‐dimensional crystals (O2DCs) dictates the photocatalytic water splitting performance. Kagome‐lattice O2DCs exhibit strong electron‐hole mass asymmetry, spatially separated carriers, and longer recombination lifetimes, exceeding rhombic isomers.

Confinement‐Engineered Thermally Programmed Ion‐Gating Separator for Decoupling Thermal–Electrochemical Feedback in High‐Energy Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A new phase‐change material encapsulated membrane offers more thermal resilience stability and safety than the conventional separators for batteries. ABSTRACT Thermal runaway in lithium‐ion batteries arises from the intrinsic coupling between heat generation and ion transport, yet conventional shutdown separators primarily rely on passive pore collapse

Study on the terahertz domain dielectric relaxation response and mechanism of thermal‐oxidative aged cross‐linked polyethylene

open access: yesHigh Voltage
To further study the thermal‐oxidative ageing mechanism of crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE), the terahertz frequency domain dielectric parameters and relaxation phenomena of thermal‐oxidative aged XLPE are analysed using terahertz time domain spectroscopy.

Direct Integration of Conductive, Emissive Perovskite Nanocrystals Into Efficient Light‐Emitting Diodes Without Post‐Synthetic Ligand Exchange

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate the direct integration of CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) into optoelectronic devices without post‐synthetic ligand exchange. This is achieved by synthesizing PNCs stabilized by strong‐binding‐energy oleylammonium–bromide pairs instead of oleate ligands. The resultant low ligand density and minimized surface defects enhance charge

High‐Throughput Discovery of Quantum Frustrated Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Physics‐guided discovery of frustrated kagome and triangular magnets. ABSTRACT Geometrical frustration provides a fertile platform for realizing exotic quantum phases such as spin liquids, yet, the predictive identification of frustrated magnets remains limited.
