A Dual-Polarised Dielectric Near-Field Probe

2007 2nd International ITG Conference on Antennas, 2007
This paper presents a novel dielectric near-field probe as an alternative for the conventional open-ended waveguide probes. The latter tend to be bulky in the mobile communication frequency bands (GSM 900 and GSM 1800). Furthermore they show significant interaction with the AUT as compared to the proposed dielectric probe.

Molecular Polarisation of Solutes and Dielectric Constant of Solvents [PDF]

open access: possibleNature, 1935
EXPERIMENTALLY it is indicated that the different total polarisations shown by the same solute when dissolved in different solvents are to be related to alterations in the orientation polarisations (0P) caused by replacement of one dielectric environment by another, the atomic and electronic polarisations being constant throughout such changes ...

Laser scribing of thin dielectrics with polarised ultrashort pulses

Optics and Lasers in Engineering, 2014
Laser processing of thin glass has proven problematic due to the inefficient coupling of optical energy into glass and difficulty achieving economical processing speed while maintaining cut quality. Laser glass processing is pertinent to touch screen display, microfluidic, microoptic and photovoltaic applications.

Influence of polarisation on breakdown strength of polymeric composite dielectrics

IEE Proceedings - Science, Measurement and Technology, 2001
The results of a study of electrical characteristics such as permittivity /spl epsiv/, loss factor tan/spl delta/ and breakdown strength E/sub b/ of new composite materials on the basis of polyvinylchloride filled with ferroelectric ceramic powder PZT are presented.

Linear and circular polarised cylindrical dielectric resonator antennas

IEEE MTT/ED/AP/LEO Societies Joint Chapter. United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland Section. 1996 2nd High Frequency Postgraduate Student Colloquium, 2002
A circular polarised and a switchable cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna are reported. The switchable antenna provides two linear polarised, one circular polarised, and a non-radiating mode. The experimental results of the resonant frequency, boresight axial ratio, gain, unloaded Q-factor, impedance bandwidth and radiation efficiency for both the

On the dielectric theory of a molecular crystalline slab with complex polarisability

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1981
Expressions for the transmission, reflection and absorption coefficients of a crystalline slab of polarisable molecules are obtained. The results are applied to one and two oscillator models with dissipation and with parameter values suggested by experimental data for the rare gas solids. The usual macroscopic, point equation of state D=ϵE, is found to
